Golden Country — Restaurant in Wyre Forest

Went as a group of 11 people from work, table booked for 6.30 on a Friday, two other tables were occupied as it's close to Christmas obviously all decided to have an early Christmas night out, our drinks order was taken and the drinks were brought to the table one at a time, very slow way of doing things we thought, next our food order was taken and it started to be served to each of us, some had already finished by the time the last two people had been served their food, by this time their rice accompanying the main dish was already cold (not good at all) no real apology given and when the bill arrived £24 had been added on to the total as a discretionary service charge. We left at approx 8pm and two of us used the gents toilet before we went to the next pub, while in the toilet the lights went out, thinking they worked off a sensor I waved an arm to get lights back on to no avail, as we came out of the toilet the staff were surprised to see us as it were they who had turned lights off and it appeared they were starting to clear things away to shut up for the evening ( not best practice at 8pm on a Friday) will not rush back...

Worst Chinese takeaway meal my wife and I have ever had. I didn’t bode well when the owner is running round shouting at the kitchen and counter staff. While we were waiting one chap brought his meal back saying he didn’t know what it was but it wasn’t what he ordered. We went for something simple, my wife had chicken fried rice and I had special fried rice and we had a portion of sweet and sour chicken balls. When we got home and plated our meals they were both dripping with oil and tasted dreadful. The chicken balls were ok but the sweet and sour sauce tasted very strange. Have been ordering from here for a few years. And have generally been quite happy. But i was disappointed with my experience last night. Had to stand outside for 20 mins in the cold waiting for my delivery as the driver had been given the wrong street. When it finally did arrive, the chips were soggy and the chow mein was lukewarm. When I called about this, I was told I had given them the wrong address when they confirmed the street with me, when they did agree to send me a recooked one, they asked me to give the first meal back to the driver.
