In our family, we have a "Pizza Picnic" every Sunday night for dinner. Over the years we've taken out from the old Serio's (Now Pizza Boli's), Domino's, Little Caesar's, and more recently Papa John's. This review speaks for two adults and four kids.
Papa John's pizza is more like custom pizza, where you can pick and choose from various "better ingredients". They also offer a wide range of "pre-built" pizzas. Our current hankering is their Double Cheeseburger Pizza. It uses a cheesy sauce instead of the traditional tomato sauce, burger crumbles, and it even includes sliced pickles, yum. We've tried other pizzas from "regular" to the Chicken type, to the 6 cheese, etc. Also, each pizza comes with a pickled pepper and garlic butter dipping sauce for the crust. Their pizzas is consistently yummy.
We use the Papa John's App to place our order. Prices are reasonable, in the $10-$15 range for a med/large. Our typical two pizza dinner costs $30. They also have a frequent buyer/ loyal customer points program. It must be worthwhile because we keep coming back. (Maybe it's the sliced pickles)...
The store itself is on the corner across from the 7-11 to the North and Rita's Italian Ice to the West. It's part of the old worn-out Aberdeen, just caddy corner (NW) from the new shiny Aberdeen where Gino's Burgers, AT&T Mobile, etc. are located.
We always order carry out. When we arrive, the staff is usually nice, but they always seem busy/ short-handed.
Papa John himself is celebrating his 30th year in business... and he looks like he's 45 years old... so if that's true, I think calling someone "Papa" when they were 15-20 years old is kinda silly. Anyhow... good pizza...
Read moreMade 4 different calls to different pizza places but went with papa John's in Aberdeen because they have garlic sauce and the man said I would save 4$ well the first pizza was wrong and no garlic sauce and I'm waving down the driver who backs up in my driveway and ignores me, I spoke to the manager right away who assured me he would make my pizza and put 2 garlic sauces in the box well as soon as it got here the driver whom I tipped well the first time let me know as soon as I opened my door that there was no garlic sauce in this order either she came out of her mouth that this pizza doesn't come with garlic sauce that isn't what I was told and the manager said he'd put 2 in the box and if I ask 3 different times on my first order for garlic sauce and would have paid for it..I don't like pizza without it and the driver was rude and the manager Blatantly. lied. And I'm disabled on disability and lost 30 dollars on that food and I called back and he had nothing to say to justify the way I was treated. I will never nor will my family ever order from papa John's again. And I paid the driver a good tip to get disrespected because she knew when she was bringing the order back a second time it was wrong without garlic sauce. You will never get my service or my family's...

We said prior to ordering we needed change for a 50 and before we even paid him because “they aren’t allowed to bring 20 dollars change out”, well the change was 18. If they are that poor then theres no reason to order pizza from a place with not enough change to handle a proper transaction. I saw thru it immediately, they have alot of eyes on them now. All the underground is watching you now. I bet the pizza woulda food poisoned her if i didn’t turn him around and tell him he has no good review from this travesty of trying to rob a pregnant woman who woulda tipped him 10 if he didn’t hold us hostage. I cannot trust pizza from people who know the amount they need change for and to give us the decency of tipping what we decide. Couldn’t trust the pizza-...
