I just had my son’s birthday party at the Aberdeen Horizon Theater. He said it was his favorite birthday party “EVER”!! It was an incredible party and it was all due to the staff. The managers I dealt with Kaylee, Anthony, and Kathryn were amazing! They were very welcoming, extremely helpful, and the communication was outstanding. In addition the other Aberdeen Horizon employees, which I wish I could list their names also, were amazing! I must have looked like I was a mess putting things together. Every time I turned around there was an employee carrying my things for me, bringing me a cart, or offering words of advice. LOL All good memories that bring a smile to my face to this day. The laughs and friendly conversations I had with the staff made the party even more enjoyable. In addition to the amazing staff the cleanliness of the build was in mint condition. Staff and managers worked cooperatively together cohesively. You could not determine who was managing or who was a general employee, everyone just jumped in to ensure everything was just perfectly cleaned and handled in a professional way. The building was very well taken care of. We will definitely visit again for all the reasons listed above. Thank you Aberdeen Horizon for an amazing and beautiful memory that will stay with us forever as one of the best birthday parties...
Read moreLove this theater, I’ve been going for years. It’s a smaller local theater with all the big theater amenities and a bar (if you like that). The staff is consistently pleasant and I’m glad they now ask if you have a membership instead of having to tell them after they ring you up (and then they have to ring you up again). Nice new reclining seats, the pizza and snacks are good however the drinks from the soda machine are not the best imo (flat), but they do sell bottled drinks. The prices are fair, they have military and senior discounts as well as a free membership which accumulates points. The points can be redeemed for food or a free ticket. They have discount Tuesdays for $7 a ticket but I choose to go when there is less of a crowd. Definitely a great theater if you are in the area. The fallston location was good the time I went as well. I do however wish they would be more accommodating when someone wants to book a birthday party regarding set up of the party room (before the party, not while the movie is playing) because who wants to leave their child and friends alone in a theater while they rush and set up a party room in 5 minutes? But I just guess it’s not too important to them to book parties. Definitely would have been my go to party place but I’ll just let them be for just a...
Read moreI have seen quite a few movies here the last three summers I have worked in the area. All things considered, my experience has averaged out to just okay. Most of the menu is just average food with no real special qualities, and the soda fountain selections are standard Coke products. The bar is typically never staffed in my experience, but that's a non-issue for me since I don't drink.
In my latest viewing at this theater (06-19-2024 at 2:50 PM), half of the hot food menu was unavailable and the soda fountain was very low on ice. Additionally, the theater I watched my movie in (Theater 5) was super hot and humid, which took away from the movie watching experience as the sweat I generated was sticking to the leather seat I was sitting on. This was by far my worst experience at this theater, but is just one bad time in a sea many just okay times.
Overall, this is a standard movie theater with surprisingly good ticket and menu prices. It's also a great option for the area if you don't want to drive down to Baltimore or DC to catch a film at the Cinemark Egyptian 24 or Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
As an aside, I would be willing to pay more in ticket prices if it meant no ads before the movie and more for food if it meant a marginal...
