
The team is simply fantastic!! Im thoroughly surprised and impressed how friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and caring the team is (I really did not expect it, wow I WAS DEFINITELY OFF POINT!! The first person I met was Heather. After only a few minutes in talking with Heather, I had to continue to inquire more information, because it was sounding so interesting along with her positive attitude. It was a delight and yes, Heather won me over ... therefore I did sign up. People do not always Realize that coming into a facility/business; FIRST IMPRESSIONS IS MOST IMPORTANT! She took the time to answer all of my questions and provided me with plenty of information. Heather's bubbly personality, friendly disposition and professional mindset, definitely gave me a Positive Impression of the Aberdeen Planet Fitness. The very next day, I was scheduled to have my first meeting with my Personal Trainer. I must say, this happened, because I spoke to Anthony very early that morning; after having a productive conversation with him, he worked with me to get me in that day with a Trainer. On the day meeting my Personal Trainer, I was rather nervous, overwhelmed with all of the equipment, and I guess just the worry of not knowing what to expect. When I met him, Quincy, I found his dismeanor and his tone when talking/explaining things to me RATHER CALMING. I was pretty candid about my goals, concerns, and expectations. Quincy listened to everything I said, mapped out a workout plan for me and went over the equipment I would be using. I must say, if you knew me, You would say He is very patient person. I am very confident that not just me, but other people just come into see the facility and meet the team will feel good about themselves and will leave smiling. The Aberdeen Manager at Planet Fitness hired a great bunch of employees!!! It says alot when you meet the Manager and his disposition is just as positive and cheerful too; It MAKES A STATEMENT, SETS THE TONE AND THE ENVIRONMENT of a company/business. I do look forward to working out and reaching my goals. I know I will be referring not just my family and close friends, but I will share my positive experience at this location. My only gripe about this place is my experience this evening with the front desk staff. As a "black card" member, I requested to use a hydromassage lounge chair after I completed my workout. The female staff member informed me that the next one would be available in 2 minutes. I told her that the brief wait was fine. She asked me for my first and last name and appeared to be typing something in the computer. She then asked me to take a seat and she would come get me when the hydro massage lounger was ready.
10+ minutes later, I approached the front desk to inquire on the status of the lounger. I was told by the male staff member that he could add me to the list and it would be approximately 2.5 minutes. I declined being added to the list and explained to him that I have already been waiting over 10 minutes when I was initially told there would only be a 2 minute wait. He apologized for the mix up and offered a regular massage chair (non-hydro) for me to use. I appreciated that he apologized and offered another option, but I still felt upset that the female staff member told me it was a 2 minute wait.
All things considered, this is one of the better Planet Fitness locations in Harford County, I just find it infuriating when a staff member over promises and under delivers.
If the wait is 10+ minutes, state that up front to allow the potential user the opportunity to decide whether they still want to use it or not. This shows that you value the member's time and understand they have other things to do than spend all this time at the gym. Members have things to do such as making dinner for their families, picking up kids, etc.
Lesson learned, estimate the time you think you're going to be finished with your workout and schedule it in advance to avoid this...

Saturday, June 28, my daughter and I attempted to use this facility for the first time but was refused entry by front desk staff member, Charles. Although there is no mention of a teen ID requirement on PF page or the Summer Pass page, Charles still refused us entry. My teen just turned 16 so she doesn't have a government picture ID that she travels with. He then requested her student ID to verify her date of birth. 1) My teen doesn't travel with her high school ID, 2) This "requirementā isn't listed anywhere, and 3) There is no DOB listed on a school ID. When I explained this to Charles, he still refused entry. I asked Charles if my teen would be required to show her school ID every visit. Charles said she would be verified by him and reoccurring ID verification wouldn't be necessary. Then I asked if she came in as PFBC guest, could she enter. He stated that her ID was still required. I then offered to show my own ID to Charles. He did not want to see my ID, stating that my scanned QR was sufficient. My PFBC app provided scanned QR is valid with no ID yet my registered PFSP teenās app provided QR requires ID???
No one was trying to circumvent facility rules. We planned to workout! Whatever the rules are, they should be in writing for patrons to follow! Charles or any other front desk staffer member should never come up ārulesā and deny entry to paying members! This experience was our first- Extremely disappointing and frustrating. I won't recommend and more than likely, I will cancel...
