Me and my son go to at least 50 minor league games a year. We mostly go to Bowie but we also go to Aberdeen and frederick a few times a year. We've been to Delmarva a few times and Norfolk twice. Out of all these stadiums Aberdeen is probably the most beautiful but by far the worst fan and family experience. Every time we drive up to Aberdeen it's a 50/50 chance we're gonna leave with a bad taste in our mouth. Yesterday was the last straw and the last time I will go to that stadium. In the 3rd inning Oscar Cortez was standing at the end of the dugout and engaged in a conversation with my son. Super cool guy. My son asked if he still had the bat he had broken in his 1st at bat. He said yes and before my son could even ask he went and grabbed it and gave my son a ball. Just being a nice dude and making a kids day. Well within seconds an usher comes down telling us stop bothering the players. My son said he was talking to us and she immediately said no he wasn't you bugged em for the bat. I tell the lady what happened and she said leave em alone or leave. So me and my son left. Also when the team would get 3 outs and head to the dugout kids were standing in their seat asking for the ball. Another usher than yelled at the kids for that. Hell even Camden yards allows you to do that. Me and my son went to the aight game at Bowie and had an amazing night and will never go to Aberdeen again and if you wanna have a good time and enjoy a minor league game I highly...
Read moreMy family are season ticket holders. For years my son has been able to sit behind the dugout and catch balls tossed up by the players as they came in from the field. Tonight my son and his friend were told they had to leave because the man in charge of that area was not going to be responsible if they got hit by a ball. However all night on the 3rd base dugout side, kids were all over the back of the dugout. I know this because I have pictures for proof. I went to fan asst. a total of 6 times. I was told someone by the name of Brad was coming to talk to me. I heard them call him on the radio and him answer, so I know he was there. The game started at 5:35 tonight and. I went to fan assistance at 6:17, it is now 9:19 pm and still no Brad, who I am told is the Asst. General manager, who never showed up. They don't treat season ticket holders very well. In fact I think waiting over 3 hrs to talk to someone, is outrageous at any situation. I have decided that I will not be a season ticket holder next year, nobody wants to be treated like that. They could have sent anybody over to talk to me, anybody but they chose not to and that wander why less and less people are going to the games. Brad, didn't even know what I wanted, guess it doesn't matter. If you are reading this. SAVE YOUR MONEY, DON'T WAIST IT HERE. Very...
Read moreI am so disappointed with my experience at the Irons Birds game on August 29. Every year my friend and I get the club level buffet on a fireworks night. The buffet was an absolute waste of money. It was Italian night. The meal was salad, roasted potatoes, corn, some sort of chicken and rice dish with tiny bits of chicken, pork with carrots and beans (my friend hates beans & it was so greasy) and the best part....hot dogs. Apparently everyone was so disappointed with the other options they were all going for the hot dogs..we waited about 20 minutes no lie for a hot dog. Once the hot dogs came out the buns had now been replenished with hoagie rolls that were old and crumbly. The money they charge for the buffet to receive this to me is unacceptable. Its really gone down hill.
Update: the chicken and rice dish did not look like that when we went thru the line. The picture looks half way decent however wasnt served until we were finished...
