The Chuckwagon — Restaurant in Abilene

I was really excited to see another restaurant open in Abilene. However, it’s a hit and miss. First we had the breakfast burrito The Stallion. That burrito deserves five stars. Next, we tried the egg casserole save yourself the money. It was the worst egg casserole a lump of bread. Burned on the bottom and so tough you couldn’t chew it. Very disappointed in that one, the other burrito we tried was the buckboard scrape. Again another disappointment that chorizo had no flavor. We asked for salsa and got a package of some kind of picante sauce. With the first burrito, they actually gave us great salsa. So we will stick with the one burrito we like and maybe try a donut since some of the reviews on that was good. Hopefully they will improve their menu or change the way...

I ordered a chef salad and asked if I could replace the turkey and ham with the one piece of crispy chicken and it came out with ham and turkey. The second time it came out with grilled chicken instead of crispy chicken with still some ham and turkey on it, I accepted it since I didn’t want to wait anymore and she also asked if I wanted croutons and something else and I said yeah whatever else comes with it and there wasn’t any croutons either, no price was taken off for their mistake nor anything else compensated for...

Great Food. Great Service. Had multiple meals on the menu since they've opened. Haven't been disappointed yet. They also have Tasty Pastry donuts from Clay Center on the Menu. By far the best donuts around. Prices are affordable, Portion size is good. I typically call ahead and pick up at the drive through window.

Also would like to add. Don't pay attention to Debbie Skinner's review. She's a miserable lady that leaves 1 star reviews...
