Service: We had a party of eight and was paired with John Brown as our waiter. John went through drinks and difficult food substitutions throughout the meal with zero mistakes. John was also amazingly personable and welcoming without feeling fake or over the top. His checkin times on the table was almost psychic. There was not one complaint about his service and can honestly say absolutely perfect. Kudos to you John Brown, you just made the Worth it or NUH Server Hall of Fame! Congratulations on being our first inductee! I know who to ask for if I ever return and the name was pretty easy to remember which definitely helps! Score: 5 out of 5 Portions: There were eight different meals so it was great to see the variety. The appetizer sizes were great. It took multiple people to complete one by itself. Two people tried to finish one by themself and couldn’t do it. The main course meals were well portioned too. It was nothing that was unbelievable but there was definitely more than enough and beyond average. Everyone who had appetizers did not complete their entrees. Those who had no apps completed all of their meals and joined the clean plate club. That in itself should give you a good gauge. Score: 4 out of 5 Taste: We ordered a wide variety off their large menu. Firecracker cauliflower, Irish tots, bone in wings, chicken tenders, chicken clubs, mashed potatoes, salads, vegan burger, vegetables, of course steak tips and cornbread. Zero complaints. The only two things that came up were the stingy burbon after taste on the steak tips but it was the marinated flavor and some pieces were stronger than nothing so nothing out of sorts. The other was that I personally didn’t like their pickles. It was that pickle that tastes like a cucumber instead of the sour pickle flavor. If I want a cucumber I want a cucumber, if I want a pickle I want a pickle! There was a lot of food to discuss so I’ll jus touch on the main favorites. The steak burbon glaze was different but in a good way. They were also grilled great. They were cooked longer than requested but were so good couldn’t complain. The mashed potatoes were of good consistently and even better loaded. I would have liked a baked potato instead but not going to complain on that one. One person order the steak instead of the tips and said it was the best steak they had ever had. Personally think she was exaggerating but I have to give credit where credit it due. Again, no real complaints here. The taste was on point but wouldn’t say it exploded my mouth into shockwaves of multicolored rainbows. Score: 4 out of 5 Value: This one is tough because some items I was oh man that’s expensive but then when the food came with the portions and taste it lined up. I think they are pretty in line with standard pricing other than maybe a dollar or two more on certain meals but nothing to crazy. They also are one of only two places that I know of that give you a free meal on your birthday! When I hear free I am there!! Score: 4 out of 5 Overall: Are you looking for a sports bar to watch the big game while eating and drinking and not feeling like your in a closet? The whole left side of the restaurant is a restraint and bar type setting. Tables, high tops or actual bar they have it. The walls surrounded by tvs next to each other all the way around not just in a few corners? Oh they got that and more! What about if you just want to eat in a quiet setting without the tv drinks or possible noise of people enjoying their life? They have that two on the right side of the place! Great scores of fours across the scoreboard with no real complaints plus great taste, variety and atmosphere this place has been added to the “regulars” list of local spots. If you are near by this and looking for somewhere to sit and eat than this isa no brainer. Also we have our first Hall of Fame service, of course this was .... WORTH IT! Score: 4.25 out of 5

(Note: I write these reviews in part for my own nationwide business clients, for travel and activity inspiration. Follow me for more! I’m a financial planner - CFP®️practitioner - with a focus on retirement wealth strategies, primarily serving business women and LGBTQ individuals. #VirtualPlanningCraftedWithCare®️) We came here for some food before going to the daylight “light fright” at Barrett’s Haunted Mansion. (Check out the separate review). It was my first time here in many years and at first I was nervous because nothing on the menu showed gluten free options. Then I realized they have a separate GF menu! It’s not very robust but it’s enough. I had a burger in a gf bun and I’m so pleased that it was soooo good and didn’t leave the bread soggy or falling apart as sometimes happens with GF bread. Note that many things are fried in a shared fryer. Not good for more sensitive reactions or celiac. I didn’t take the chance. But I was delighted that both my server and the cook brought these things to my attention. Also, fabulous drinks! Speaking of my server, we had Brianna at the outside bar and she was nothing short of delightful, friendly and attentive. Also, the outside patio is fully decorated for Halloween and it provided lots of fresh air and light. Loved the patio! The prices here are appropriate. It’s a large area establishment with lots of seating options for big or small parties, singles or couples. I found the place to be clean and easy to mop over around. There are some steps to get in but there is also a ramp at the back right near handicap parking. I imagine this establishment is also LGBTQ friendly. Didn’t get any indication otherwise. Overall, we spent a few hours here and it made for a lovely afternoon. If you’re ever visiting the area, the Cape or Boston or East Coast MA, stop in. It’s worth taking a little drive off the major highways.

Had a wonderful dinner on the patio this evening. Had a short wait for a table but was eventually seated in Caroline's section. The indoor patio is nice and spaced out well. It's also open so there's some good ventilation but also shaded. The extensive menu is arguably too big but I enjoyed both my French onion soup ($8.50) and my Caesar salad ($11.50). My wife's house burger was good, nicely cooked, and came with tots. My kid devoured her hot dog while playing with the crayons they provided. They also have some daily specials and some craft beer although they don't really have a dedicated craft beer menu, but they only list it as seasonal on the menu which is a bummer and kind of a hassle having to ask. All in all it was a good experience and I'd definitely return. There's also plenty of parking.

I give this place a chance every time I go and I am always disappointed. Each visit is a different unhappy experience. The appetizers were good but I was disappointed when my entree came out it was wrong. I order the prime rib medium rare (yes, medium rare) and it came out medium well. I informed the waiter that it was incorrect and he apologized and took the place away. He returned to the table and informed me that they were out of my order serving of prime rib and all they have was the medium well or well done servings. He apologized again and recommended that I pick something else. I picked the steak tip as a replacement meal. SMH, I was happy with that dish either. I didn't like the sauce seasoning on the tips and the rice was still raw (hard). I am all set and 9 time out of 10 I will not be going back to Abington Ale House. But don't take my word for it, experience this restaurant for yourself because you may have a different...
