The food, dessert and service are great; however, the Management staff should reflect the dishes for the overall great experience. Needless to say, we will not be returning as much as the food is great. We arrived at 6:10 with the other half of our guests arriving at 6:30. Steve, the waiter, is amazing and was very attentive to our table. We could tell "someone" was rushing him to move the table. He had asked us to place our appetizer order with our entrée orders and promised not to piggyback the dishes, which we were okay with that honesty. We chalked that up to having us arrive 20 minutes later than the other half of our party and if that was the issue, they should not seat customers until their party fully arrives. Our room was full and still had customers there that sat before us. We were eating dessert at 7:55 and the Assistant Manager Gary Drummond came to the table and whisked away our dishes some not finished eating. As he walked back to the kitchen he ran into our waiter and basically yelled at him to "get us out". Gary retuned to the opening of the kitchen, where from our table could see him looking at our table and his watch yelling and dropping the "F" bomb about us drinking coffee, laughing and to him taking our time. Gary made this very obvious with his body language and I felt like he was bullying our waiter. I had apologized to our waiter if we took up his table and didn't realized there was a time limit. Our waiter was very empathetic and stated there's no time limit. After paying the over two-hundred-dollar bill at 8:15 I stopped at the hostess station where Assistant Manager Gary was standing talking to an employee putting away menus. There wasn't a line at the door, nor was there a crowd in the bar. I made sure Gary knew I saw every antic and word he said/did and made sure he was aware I knew there wasn't a line at the door. I am sure the owners John and Andrea would not appreciate this type of behavior being reflective of their establishment. Beware before going if you dine make sure Assistant Manager Gary isn't on duty and make sure you know what the time limit is on sitting at the table, which to me two hours is a normal time-frame for a party of four. Our celebration was ruined by the person who should have been swinging by to ask how everything was instead of basically...
Read moreThe service & atmosphere were great. Christy was kind & attentive, & the atmosphere is relaxed. The food was just okay. My wife got the bolognese which was excellent. I got the 8oz steak with whipped potatoes & grilled veggies. The steak was great, but the potatoes were awful. They were mealy & bland, & also scooped onto the plate in the shape of a baseball. I was a cook for many years & the "baseball effect" is a very real thing. It makes the consistency of your potatoes akin to boxed mashed potatoes. The grilled veggies were grilled veggies. It's hard to get those wrong, but the portion was tiny, & they weren't seasoned with anything. There was also a gorgonzola butter on top of the steak, but it was more like a scoop of butter with some gorgonzola crumbles thrown on top. Still delicious, but lazy. The best part of that dish was the steak & the chianti reduction that came with it. But for $42 it should've been exceptional. The cocktail I got sucked. It was made with Evan Williams bourbon (ew) but sometimes a drink with cheap liquor can be saved with good ingredients & a good bartender. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I got a beer after & the glass was dirty on the outside. I had to scrape off something that was stuck to it. My wife's wine was pretty good. Lastly, the pizza was trash. Margherita pizza should be sauce forward with blotches of fresh mozzarella. This was a cheese pizza with roasted tomatoes & herbs on top. One of the tomato pieces still had a core on it. When you cut tomatoes you need to core them first because tomato cores are porous & hold a lot of bacteria. They were also cut julienne instead of sliced. The cut wouldn't have bothered me if the pizza actually tasted good, but it didn't. Overall it was good if you're looking for a no frills dinner, but this cost $150 & was definitely not worth the price tag. I'd get the bolognese for takeout...
Read moreMy partner and I came here for a date night after driving by so many times, and we’re glad we finally stopped in.
We grabbed seats at the bar during the main dinner rush and had no trouble finding a spot. The bar staff gave us a warm welcome and quickly took our drink orders.
My only critic is their waiting area is small. Anyone waiting to be seated funnels into the bar and dining area which can be a little distracting. But, it is what it is. It didn’t ruin our experience. I can see it being difficult for others though.
She had a mojito she really enjoyed, and I went with a whiskey cocktail that was solid.
The standout starter was the warm bread with pesto oil dip—perfectly portioned for two and just enough to hold us over before the main course.
For entrees, I had the scallop risotto and she got the cod. Both dishes were excellent. The vibrant green color caught us off guard at first, but we realized it was likely due to their generous use of pesto, which worked really well. We devoured everything—no leftovers needed.
To finish, we shared a cannoli trifle special, an almond crème brûlée, and a couple of espresso martinis. If I hadn’t been so full, I would’ve polished it all off.
Overall, it was a fantastic meal. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’ll...
