We were looking forward to this spot in Seven Fields but it left some to be desired. We sat at the bar and had prompt friendly service. We opted for the Mia margarita which is their house offering. It was pretty good but had lots of ice, two didn't give us a buzz. They weren't too sweet and had a nice spicy salt on the side which we liked. The queso fundido appetizer was good but very expensive at $15 for a small portion. We got the tiniest bowl of chips with it. The tacos are very small. They come 3 in an order and we ordered the carnitas and steak. The steak was overcooked and a bit tough. The carnitas were very dry. Overall they lacked flavor without adding a bunch of sauce. We doused them in the two sauces they came with (some kind of red salsa and an avocado crema) which helped. We liked the pickled red onions on top and blue corn tortillas however. They don't come with sides so we ordered a side of rice which was really tiny for $4. As others have said, they will need to step up their game if they want to compete with the quality and prices of other local spots, notably Tepache and Patron. Our total bill was $90 for 4 house margaritas, two orders of tacos, and queso fundido. Not worth it.

I am so sad to write this review. I was hopeful that we would have a solid good quality Mexican restaurant close to home. I tried two entrees today. The chipotle chicken enchiladas and the pork carnitas tacos. I was sharing with my husband, so we could try two things. The pork carnitas tacos were swimming in grease and over half of the pork was a large gelatinous piece of fat on my taco. I have a picture I will attach that shows the chunk of fat. The enchiladas were not as unpalatable. The flavor was nice for the shredded chicken inside, but the sauce over top did not have the best flavor. Overall the restaurant was clean and the waiter was attentive. This restaurant has not been open long, so hopefully the food preparation and quality control improves with time.

This was our second time here. The first time didn’t wow us. The service was slow and my meal was cold, it was also missing the plantains. The server did acknowledge it was an off day so we gave it try again another time. The second time, the service was much better. Drinks were tasty, as was the food. Drinks: we tried the shrek, la toxica, Paloma and el Rey guavas (they were out of this drink the first time but it’s a 10). For food we had the pollo taquitos (better than the fried birria bites the first time), birria burrito (we were told they were out of the carnitas bowl) and arroz con camarones. Had the second experience been bad again, we likely wouldn’t return. Yet everything was great the second time and we will be back!

My husband and I were a part of a group of 8 at Mamacita's last night and we had the best time!

We had reservations for 6:30 and they were ready, but since we had a friend with hearing devices and it was mic night, so we had to find new seating or our friend was not going to enjoy himself whatsoever.

Outside wasn't an option because the tables aren't set up for large groups and we would be apart, defeating the purpose of us all being together.

Leo, the manager (and owner, I think?) sprang into action and offered us a table in a room they usually dont use during the week.

After a short wait as they prepared the seating for us, we sat down and Megan came in to wait on us.

Let me tell you, this girl is not only super sweet, she is also super efficient! We unanimously agreed that she is the best server we have all had in a very long time.

She has a fantastic smile and a big heart and is very attentive. Not one thing was wrong and she made shre we had everything we needed at all times.

She helped us with suggestions for drinks, apps and meals and check on us just enough but not so much that she all over us.

We asked her if there was anything about which we could pray for her, and she shared what was in her heart and we prayed - and cried a little bit! - and it was beautiful.

Megan asked us if we could also pray with Leo for the new Mamacita's opening in McCandless, and we were honored and happy to oblige.

Leo is a very humble, soft-spoken man who you can tell takes pride in what they do (everything being made fresh and authentically, with a great deal of care and thoughtfulness!) and Megan couldn't stop raving about what a great manager he is!

Leo said he truly has a fantastic staff and we think so as well. We had gotten drinks at the bar while we waited and his staff there was also wonderful.

If you want a great place with great food and atmosphere served to you by great people, don't hesitate to go to Mamacita's!

We plan to go back soon and we will definitely be trying to get Megan as...

Yesterday, my friend and I had lunch there. We were excited to try it for the first time. We were impressed by how beautiful the inside was and how nice the decor was. The problem was is that we had a young friendly waitress, but she explained from the beginning that she couldn’t speak English. She did this with another lady who was assisting her. During the time we were there, the lady who did speak English seemed to spend her time on the other side of the restaurant leaving us with a waitress who could not explain the menu or the desserts. While we tried to be understanding and speak slowly and work with this waitress, it was difficult. We really weren’t sure exactly what the desserts were. There was no menu to explain the desserts .We were only somewhat aware of what we were gonna get and how it was going to be prepared. But I guess the real problem was when she made our change both my friend and I had our own checks, and both of us got the incorrect change. For some reason, she did not include any coins in the remainder of our change. I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. It wasn’t just The poor communication the prices were also more than what I had...
