My first-time experience with this cafe was interesting. I went in totally blind, having just seen that they were on the vendor list for the Mars car show while I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for lunch. It seems to be a fairly new, family owned-and-run cafe still looking to get their "foot in the door". I ordered the brisket gouda melt (pictures attached), and, while I was waiting, two of the owner's very young children had just finished eating and were running around the dining area loudly playing with each other. They weren't being too disruptive, but it was a touch awkward and unprofessional, since the dining area was fairly small. They did, however, leave right as my order was ready, so I suppose I just came at a bad time. That, combined with the fact that the only seating was two tablecloth-covered fold-out tables with those blue plastic school chairs sorta turned me off of eating in the cafe. I would personally have liked to see a few nicer tables/chairs (potentially one or two outdoors!) and maybe some low music in the background so that guests wouldn't have to eat in awkward silence. Anyways, the first thing I noticed in regards to my food was that the potato chips that came with the sandwich seemed to be homemade, which was a nice touch! The sandwich was very good, however, it was also a touch too greasy and seemed very unhealthy. It sorta gave me the vibe of a sandwich at a really good diner. This, however, may have been due to the specific sandwich I chose, and there were likely healthier options. All in all, I would definitely recommend and can certainly see myself going back if I'm in the mood for a really good sandwich in Mars! Since this is already a super long review (I thought I'd leave a long one since this is such a new place that I think could be made excellent with some small improvements), I should also note that this cafe is in the same small plaza as one of my favorite breakfast places in the area: Jimmy's Strip district grille. I would compare the two as follows: go to the farmhouse cafe if you're looking for a good, quick, (potentially takeout) lunch sandwich, and go to Jimmy's if you're looking for a sit down breakfast (with potentially some...
Read moreI contacted Amber about catering for my daughter’s graduation party. She was very helpful , patient with me, answered all of my questions and she had great suggestions . I then asked a friend to meet me there for lunch to try it out. I had a Reuben , she had a Cubano sandwich and we both had the sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious! My friend thanked me for introducing her to this hidden gem. I ordered a few items to go for the family to try for catering the party. The chicken tenders and pulled pork were outstanding. On the day of the party, Sharon and Brandon arrived on time and they did a great job from start to finish. The food was amazing! So many guests complimented and asked who they were. They were very helpful and definitely made it easy for us to enjoy the party without worry. I highly recommend them. This is now a new favorite lunch spot and we are planning to try a...
Read moreIn the quaint little town of Extraterrestrial Eats, there's a hidden gem that's out of this world: Mars Farmhouse Cafe. As I stepped through the door, I was greeted by Martians in gingham aprons, buzzing around with trays of steaming cosmic casserole. The menu was a cosmic delight, featuring dishes like "Galactic Goulash" and "Saturn's Rings Salad." I ordered the "Plutonian Pancakes," which arrived stacked high, topped with a mysterious glowing syrup that defied gravity. As I took a bite, I was teleported to a distant galaxy where the cows jumped over moons, and the chickens laid asteroid eggs. The atmosphere was buzzing with intergalactic chatter, and I swear I saw a couple of aliens sharing a milkshake with two straws. Mars Farmhouse Cafe, you've taken farm-to-table to a whole new dimension, leaving this earthling starry-eyed and hungry for more...
