I’ve never been treated so horrible by a small, local business owner before. I grew up in two family businesses, my husband owns a successful business, I’m currently running my 2nd successful direct sales business & my background is business. My family & I strive very hard to “always” support small, local businesses. We operate with customer service being #1 & customers are always right. You do your best to accommodate & be kind. I guess that’s an old fashion notion. I parked in the alley, along Salvaged. I first patronize another store & then planned on shopping at Salvaged next. The owner called the police to have me towed. I honesty & innocently didn’t notice small signs that said customer parking only. He said his cameras saw me go to the other store. Ok, great then why not just come over & NICELY ask me to move, or ask if I’ll be very long, or ask if I’ll be shopping in his store or explain the sign I obviously didn’t see. I would of moved apologetically. He had so many options to be business like & kind. Oh... maybe the signs should be bigger & not a similar color as the building, especially if you want people to see the signs, just an obvious suggestion. After all, SIGNS are made to get ones attention & relay a message. Salvaged located in Mars, PA with a borough population of approximately 1,400. Again, I honestly didn’t realize the alley parking was for their customers only. And for Pete sakes, I was supporting another small, local business. Just be kind!!! When I returned to patronize Salvaged, he was waiting for me & the way I was spoken to was unreal. It was a scene you’d expect to see or witness in a major city. The poor police in that town are quite tired of his rants & calling them to get tow trucks from violators. I guess his business is doing just fine & warrants the inexplicable behavior to an innocent violator. I’ll take my money &...
Read moreThoughtful and creative owners and staff. Great collection of salvaged lumber and so much more. Made this sofa table from a cedar board I found there. Updated with another project fueled by this super cool company. The Ash mantle was from a reclaimed barn floor board. Still had the hay in it. Jointer/planer to square it up and take out the major damage and it ended up a great looking board with just some satin poly added. Found the corbels here as well. Really spruced up...
