It’s OK. The rolls are now American sized, meaning big so we feel good about the price but not like the chop-stick using Japanese intended, which is bite sized. Also, they can be a bit salty. They are the best thing here. I ordered chicken teriyaki. It’s plain chicken with an oddly sweet honey like teriyaki glaze squirted on, probably out of a ketchup type bottle, certainly not marinated. I wonder if customers are asking for sweet teriyaki instead or actual teriyaki. Why would they make it sweet? Disappointing for me. Anyhow, they have steamed broccoli. My feeling when I go to a restaurant is I’m looking for something I can’t do at home. I’m a terrible cook. But even I can steam veggies. At least they aren’t sweet. Iced tea was fine. Fried rice was huge, we almost needed wheels to get it to the table. It was ok, a little sweet more than salty but OK. Dessert is quite excellent, we got the banana fritters. Service was perfect. This place is empty nowadays, not like when they were Wok and roll. I really hope they get better so they can last. The vibe here is still pretty cool but I kinda feel like it might be better for me to go a few doors down and have a better meal for the price. It’s not sushi but they are...
Read moreLoyal, regular customer VERY DISAPPOINTED how my son and girlfriend were treated tonight. They called and were told happy hour was 5-8 When they arrived they told the host they were there for happy hour and were seated in the bar (which is the only place you can get happy hour prices). Once their bill arrived they were charged full price and brought it to the attention of their waitress who proceeded to tell them Happy Hour ended at 7:00 not 8:00 The manager was called and he raised his voice and was very rude. It became so outrageous my son almost walked out not paying at all. Eventually, the manager said he would honor the half price. Then the waitress grabs the check and says, "Thanks a lot" and storms off. She then comes back and SHE starts harassing them... it was unbelievable!! We have been customers of Wok-N-Fire (now Bok Choy) for YEARS. It is literally right down the street and we loved their food. Well now I understand why the owners broke up. We will NEVER return - there are too many other great sushi restaurants that want our business. This is NOT how you...
Read moreOur family had Bok Choy take-out for dinner tonight. I don't normally review anything, but I felt compelled to try and offer a little bit of positive support for a local business in what must be an extremely difficult time. My daughter requested sushi for her birthday, but I was a little leery since we had never ordered sushi for take-out, and I was furthered concerned that there might be quality issues during this pandemic. We could not have been more delighted with the entire experience. The staff was courteous and helpful. The sushi quality was outstanding, and the portions were healthy. We were supplied with more wasabi and soy sauce than we actually needed. My father-in-law ordered Pad-Thai, and he said it was the best he ever had. Thanks Bok Choy for providing a bright spot in what was an otherwise bummer birthday celebration...
