I am just now leaving literally in the parking lot writing this. I decided to stop because I always pass it by since Iām new to this area. I understand neighborhood bars and the regulars however, the moment I walked in I received nothing but unwelcoming stares. No a single hello nor smile. I only stopped to have a glass of wine which is reasonably priced but the feel is what has me leaving this review. Iām not sure if everyone is accepted here and itās really unfortunate as we are not in the 60ās! I didnāt feel like all races were welcomed which is quite odd because the lady behind the bar is Hispanic aka a minority. Itās really sad that people still think and behave in this way. It was uncomfortable. Not one person spoke to me . Didnāt ask me if I needed anything etc. not to mention a good ol gal at the bar was visibly displeased that I had the audacity to even come into the bar , the nerve of me ! Imagine that. I wonāt be back. Iād be extremely careful of how you treat people moving forward. You never no who youāre dealing with and you never know who has influence . Most of all, just treat everyone the same. Iāll never come back. I AM the customer you would want to keep . When I explore new places and enjoy, I come back and I influence others (white black Hispanic Asian whoever) to go visit. Not to mention I tend to spend an obscene amount of money. Iām in the neighborhood, I hate that I felt like I was unwanted in this bar as it almost seemed intentional. Again, really disappointed. Matter of fact, I think I will go back at some point just to make people uncomfortable by just breathing . We shall see. If I do , Iāll provide an update here and on social media . Letās make you a star āļø š sn: I really donāt want to be mean about this. Iāll give anyone grace or a second chance . But this is how I felt so my opinions are just that . They are mine . This was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn town for the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame ceremony. Drove in from Fort Campbell, KY and the family was starving so we decided this looked like good place to eat after reading reviews and looking at the menu online. We walked in, with my service dog, the sign said seat yourself and we chose a table in the far back corner away from others. A waitress came up, and asked if my dog was a service dog, she was not wearing a vest. I replied yes she is, and the waitress responded with we need to see her papers. My wife and I explained they can not do that, and she does not have papers anyone could buy papers. The waitress walked away and another lady came up and said you will have to leave if you do not have papers. So we left, an Army Combat Veteran of multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan with his service dog and family were denied service here. No one was rude at all, matter of fact they were all nice, but the food must have sucked if we were asked to leave. Go check out Taste of Chicago instead. It is right behind Midway on the right side. A little place, clean great food, awesome service and they had no issues with my...
