I want to start this off by saying I don’t normally give bad reviews but I recently organized a large gathering at Texas de Brazil with a reservation for 50 people. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Here’s a detailed account of what transpired:
Reservation and Seating Issues: Our reservation was set for 8 PM, and by 8:15 PM, all 50 of us had arrived. However, we were informed that everyone had to be present before we could be seated. This caused a significant inconvenience as we were all crammed into a small waiting area, creating a chaotic and uncomfortable environment for both our group and the regular customers.
Unexpected Charges: Once everyone had arrived, we were told there would be a $10 upcharge per person to include drinks and dessert, which we had not been informed of beforehand. Although we agreed to this additional charge, the process of paying upfront was extremely inefficient, taking about five minutes per party. This resulted in an absurd delay.
Table Readiness: Despite our reservation, the tables were not ready when we finally completed the payment process. We were left standing until the previous party vacated the area we had reserved. This should have been managed better, considering we had a reservation and had informed them of our large group in advance.
Service and Space Constraints: We were finally seated around 9:20 PM, significantly later than our reservation time. The area allocated to us was too small to comfortably accommodate 50 people. Drink orders were taken, but half of our group did not receive their drinks. The cramped space made it difficult for the waiters to serve us properly, and many of us felt neglected. Additionally, I barely got any meat, which was extremely disappointing for a Brazilian steakhouse.
Food Quality and Service Issues: To add to the disappointment, the food that did arrive was not up to the expected standard. Most of the steak portions were extremely stingy, and many cuts that were supposed to be medium rare were served practically raw. The servers seemed to selectively serve certain age groups, often skipping over some of us entirely, even though everyone had paid the same amount. This inconsistent and unfair service left many of us without the opportunity to try the different meats, which is a key part of the Texas de Brazil experience. Also, remember that $10 up charge they charged for the drinks and dessert. They also wanted to limit our drink And dessert selections which was not disclosed upfront.
Overall, our experience at Texas de Brazil was disappointing. The management of our reservation was poor, the unexpected charges and inefficient payment process were frustrating, and the service was lacking due to space constraints. This was certainly not worth my money. I would recommend taking your money elsewhere and going to Fogo de Chão or 12 Cuts instead. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves their handling of large groups...
Read moreMy spouse and I came here for an early lunch reservation. We arrived a few minutes early to make sure that we got in in a timely fashion. The restaurant started to fill quickly as people were arriving at 11:30 for their lunch meals. They called our names right at 11:35 and we were moved into the dining room area alongside the front window. Our server, Mike, was friendly and informative as he discussed our menu, the restaurant and dining options. I did advise him that I preferred more cooked meat than less cooked or rare meat. My spouse and I visited the salad bar area to get side bar items to consume with the selection of meats. We found the bar to be well kept and clean upon our arrival. During the meal, the server checked in on us to make sure that we had what we needed during the time we were waiting for the meats to make its way around the restaurant. The server suggested two different drinks after a swing-and-a-miss on the sweet tea that wasn't sweet at all. Both of the suggested drinks a limeade and a can Brazilian ginger ale type soda were great selections suggested by the server. My spouse and I ate until we were ready to pop. The last time I was in a place like this I was in South America at a similar type restaurant. Our server went to get a chicken selection for my spouse because she did not eat the various types of meat, only the various chicken varieties. I enjoyed the various meat selections and she enjoyed all of the chicken selection. I watched the meat carvers serving from the skewers. My spouse was ready to start on desert midway to finishing her meal. She decided to get a chocolate mousse and I decided to get the carrot cake. Both of the selections were well worth the extra calories. The server came back to the table and got us checked out within a matter of minutes and cleaned the table for us. The restaurant appears to be well operated from the the time we sat in the front lobby watching their initial morning meeting until the time we departed at the restaurant. As we exited the restaurant, no one at the desk said anything. I would have thought that was the standard practice for a restaurant like this to thank the customers upon arrival AND departure. This was a penalty against the dining experience, but not enough to erase the positive overall experience. This visit was a great one for both of us and we would recommend this location to others looking for this type of dining experience. My spouse went to check the restroom before we departed and found it to be clean. This place is pricey, so make sure to tip your server...

I recently had the opportunity to dine and I must say, it was a rather disappointing experience. The primary issue that overshadowed our meal was the excessive delay in bringing out the meat.
To start with, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant were impressive. The rustic Brazilian theme, dim lighting, and live music created a welcoming atmosphere. Our party was excited and eager to indulge in the famed Brazilian steakhouse experience. However, as the evening unfolded, our enthusiasm began to wane.
The service was friendly and attentive at first. We were seated promptly, and our drink orders were taken quickly. The salad bar, featuring an array of fresh greens and appetizers, was delightful, and we eagerly dug in while awaiting the meat service.
Here's where the problem began - the interval between the initial salad course and the arrival of the meat was unreasonably long. We had expected a steady flow of various meat cuts brought to our table, as is customary in Brazilian steakhouses. However, we found ourselves waiting for extended periods between meat offerings.
The server explained that the kitchen was backed up, which was unfortunate but understandable to some extent. However, the excessive wait times for the meat made the meal feel disjointed and disrupted the flow of the dining experience.
When the meat finally arrived, it was delicious, and the gauchos serving it were skilled and attentive. The variety and quality of cuts were on par with what one would expect from a Brazilian steakhouse. The problem was that by the time the meat reached our table, we were no longer as hungry or as eager to partake in the feast.
Moreover, it seemed that the serving frequency was uneven, with long gaps between some meat cuts while others were offered more frequently. This inconsistency further contributed to our disappointment.
In summary, while has a lot of potential with its appealing ambiance, friendly service, and quality meat offerings, the unacceptable delays in meat service significantly detracted from our overall experience. For a restaurant that specializes in this type of cuisine, timely delivery of the main attraction, the meat, should be a top priority. I hope that they can address these issues and provide a more seamless and enjoyable dining experience for their patrons...
