I have been coming here regularly with friends for nearly a year, and it has progressively gone downhill. Tonight sealed the deal. My friend got the hibachi option and the guy cooking had facial hair that was NOT restrained by a beard met, as mandated by food safety standards. My friend had SEVERAL coarse beard hairs visible in her food! The "manager* agreed to take her meal off the bill, but we were all grossed out ale not really hungry anymore, so we decided to just pay and leave. Upon reaching the cash register, I was quoted a total only $2 less than the original bill!! When I questioned this, the "manager" told me "The waitress wrote the total down wrong, it should have been $(much higher amount than original bill)." When I protested that this was not only not my fault but that we had already had an issue, he insisted that I pay the new amount. I paid it to avoid a scene, but I will NEVER return for ANY reason, and I will tell anyone I know that patronizes this place about the unsanitary food handling and shady business practices. Why would you ask an already jilted customer to pay for YOUR EMPLOYEE'S mistake? Beyond tacky, especially when I was already nauseated from seeing beard hair in my friend's food. I will, however say one positive thing- our server has been there a long time and always does an AMAZING job. She's an older female with blonde hair. I hope she reads this- get out of there, girl, you ROCK as a server and could make SO MUCH more money...
Read moreWe went on a Wednesday night, maybe 7:00pm, and were surprised to see that a lot of food was out - generally, these buffet places cook only a little of each food as it nears closing time, and intentionally run out of some items to reduce waste.
That said, the food didn't look like it had been sitting out for a few hours as often happens in these places. And it's buffet-style, mass-appeal Chinese dishes, so no surprises.... although I think I saw pizza slices in there somewhere. The Hot and Sour Soup was so salty that it was inedible, and the Egg Drop Soup was the exception to the rest of the displayed food as it was a dark, gelatinous porridge in the bottom of the tureen. Ick.
The atmosphere is a cross between strip mall chain diner and warehouse, with boxes of inventory stacked in various places in the dining area. I'm sure it's all paper goods and not food items, but it really makes you feel like they've run out of space in the back of the house. Mopping and vacuuming going on while we were there was a strong hint that they only had two hours left before closing and were anxious to get their work done and go home.
The wait staff - I should say, the one waitress - was pleasant and pretty attentive, as much as you need to be at a buffet.
Overall, we go here once a year or so just to see if it's improved and to remind ourselves how lucky we are when we run across really good Asian...
Read moreBuffets are hit and miss, but after the new ownership, this place is definitely a miss. My husband and I finally came here for dinner yesterday after talking about it for weeks and to say we were disappointed is an understatement.
Pretty much all the meat in every dish is cartilage and grissle just dipped in batter and fried, oh and that weird aftertaste... it's rotting meat. The fried rice was definitely more than 3 days old because it was dry and hard and literally tasted like mold. The waitress was super nice, so that was a plus. I tried at least 8 different dishes that had meat in it and they were all the cartilage pieces, I had to spit it all out. The green beans are barely steamed so they're still raw and crunchy inside of being soft and chewy, and then green onions for the wonton soup were brown and dried up from being reused so much.
We really tried to like this place but the more we tried to find redeeming dishes, the worse it got. We didn't complain to the management but I'm trying to warn others. This is not the place it used to be so don't get your hopes up, they're going to give someone food...
