Very rude staff - I would not recommend this place to anyone. We sat at a table having a family birthday party for three hours -- after three hours the manager told us the table had been reserved and we had to move. There were no empty tables available. There were no signs noting the table had been reserved. When I challenged the manager asking for another area to move to, she called the St. Louis county police and had my family including my three year old grandson and 3 month old granddaughter escorted from the park.
The police officer noted the venue has the right to refuse service to anyone. I understand that, however they had already provided service and established we were being served when they took our order, payment for the order and provided the food and beverages that we had paid for in good faith. When our group of 11 was forces to vacate, we had to throw away our half eaten meals and pour two expensive pitchers of beer in the trash can.
The lack of signage was an error made by someone on the venue staff. The venue representative was verbally hostile and displayed a mannerism that was totally inappropriate for a family setting that included numerous small children. No compensation was offered for the meals and beverages that we were forced to throw away when we were escorted from the premises.
We have been a repeat customer to Nine Mile Garden for several years. You are correct in your assumption that we will no longer give our business to Nine Mile Garden.
I encourage you to share this story with everyone. Maybe you will be the next customer to receive a personal police escort after the venue excepts your payment!
Update to your response -
In response to your answer I would like to clarify a few errors you have made in your message. 1. We were not offered any type of gift card or compensation for your mistake. 2. I said, we were happy to move if you had another area for us to move to. The employee said there are no available tables "Just move"! What were we suppose to do with our meals and beverages ? 3. There was no cursing or verbal abuse. I take offense to the accusation that I would act that way in general or especially in front of my young grandchildren. I'm nearly 70 years old and a practicing Christian. 4. Yes, your employee called the police, when I spoke to the officer he apologized to me multiple times stating " He felt Nine Mile was in the wrong but was only doing his job" He also said he would give me some friendly advise that he shares with other's that the venue has had removed. " I would never come here again". I understand that you are using false statements to cover yourself or your employees. However, part of being a business owner is taking responsibility for your staffs behavior. It appears that you would like to correct this bad situation -- We spent $261.00, most ended up in your trash can. I will be happy to provide my charge card number so you can reimburse me. If you need further clarification, I can ask the other members of my party to also add a post.
I have lost sleep over the anxiety and stress this situation has caused me. I have found it in my heart to forgive you and your staff for the damage and the ruined memories. In the coming weeks and months I will add you and your staff to my...
Read moreI've been wanting to come here since learning about it from a coworker and got out here after a mountain bike ride and overall my experience was good but, knocked a star off due to the price. I got here too late and the last food truck, Kalifornia Cuisine, was about to drive off but hooked me up with some tacos anyways. I met the truck's owner and she was really cool. The chicken tacos there were really good! They were, expensive but I'd say they were worth it. Better than most restaurants I've been to. BTW, it was around 9pm when the trucks rolled out and I got hooked up last second. There was a band playing and the band played until about 10 I'd say. It was a full band too... They were doing mostly classic rock covers and sounded good... They were pretty far (picture taken from one of the closest benches) from where all the benches are but I guess that's so you can set up lawn chairs closer to the band if you want. They had the cardinals game on a enormous screen... this place is probably great for big games! I'm pretty boujee when it comes to my beer so I went inside and got a craft beer. They have a pretty awesome list of beers from kinda all over. Narrow Gauge, Maplewood, Deschutes, Urban Chestnut... mostly local but some from out of the area. I got a 16 ounce beer and a 24 oz beer and spent $24 w/tip! That's kinda insane (yet for some reason, I was cool with it). Beer prices everywhere have gotten crazy but they were a few dollars more crazy. I'm willing to say that it's worth it for the environment and vibe... just I need to get here earlier to make it worth while. Note: they have a drink stand near the food trucks serving canned beer and other drinks, so that might be the...
Read moreTried to come for the Bluey event cause both our kids love that show. As we walked in some guy was telling us, and every other reasonable parent there, that we couldn’t bring in our kids sippy cups. So despite our little one being under 1 and not able to drink from a normal cup/straw yet.
As my husband and I were collecting all of our “outside drinks”, I saw that same person kicking a family out because the dad had water for his dog. As he was walking back to his car to put it back, the guy called him back to tell him “don’t come back”.
That just really left a bad taste in my mouth. Seemed 100% uncalled for. Won’t be coming back
Update: They’ve now replied to my review. And continue to double down on their bad behavior. This is why my family left early. I watched what happened with the gentlemen and his dog. He neither “refused to comply” or “argued” with staff. He was walking back to his car when their staff called him back to tell him he couldn’t come in. THATS the part that rubbed us the wrong way. The fact that he was complying, the staff kicked him out anyway, and then they double down just confirmed my bad feelings about this establishment. They also said that the “do not prohibit young children’s sippy cups or bottles”. And whereas I didn’t see anyone with a bottle get turned back, I absolutely saw multiple parents walking back to their cars with sippy cups lamenting that they couldn’t bring them in.
Just admit that you screwed up and I might have removed my bad review. But the double down on poor staff behavior is repulsive. So much for the “customer being right” or even entitled to the...
