I’m gonna say! Food was great but last few times just ok. Then I realized discount for paying in cash… was fake it’s not a discount. If you pay with a card they charge you for their credit fee. The sign in the restaurant is not clear it’s put on the side window when you pay. Pay attention when you go in… I don’t think you should get charged to use a credit card. That is the owner’s expense as a business owner. People give them business. They are making money off you. Now you pay for patronizing them. Bad business… then they want a tip. Do not tip. The owners only employees. They charge you for credit cards. I don’t care if it’s $1.00 or 2.00 it’s principal. You own a business you pay your credit card fees. Do not stick it to your customers. They are most likely a 70/85 percent markup on what they charge. Think about going out to eat. Get your bill pay after tax then a credit card fee then tip. And you are giving the business money to succeed and they want you to pay their credit card fees for you to give them business and keep them in business: further more they do not actually tell people this info. In 3 years of ordering food from them they never once told me I was getting charged a credit transaction fee. Which is illegal. They have a discount sign but it does not say you get charged the credit card fee. Which now in this day in age is high. They want tips but want you to pay credit transaction fees. Bad business. It’s just the husband and wife that work there. There quality has gone down hilll. Very upsetting. Sorry don’t mean to rant. But for those who have ordered from here. Not realizing they paid to eat there bc of using credit card is illegal because they do not...
Read moreMy husband wanted to celebrate his birthday here because they had unique vegan options and were extremely affordable (cheaper than most similar take-out oriented restaurants). We love Chinese food but had no idea this little innocuous place would be SO delicious. I had the hot braised tofu and he had the Mongolian tofu (see photos). Neither dish was one available in our hometown (Cincinnati, Ohio). Neither were particularly spicy, either, but both were ridiculously delicious. I had a hard time eating it slowly enough not to burn my tongue. The half dishes were $6.50 and the whole dishes were $8.50. This is among the cheapest Chinese food we've ever eaten but among the best flavor-wise. Both of us left with full and happy stomachs.
I should note that we dined in. The place was well air-conditioned, cute, comfortable aesthetic, and clean. The tables and chairs could use some updating eventually, but we personally don't care about that kind of thing. The woman at the counter was super friendly and willing to answer questions about the dishes. Dining in meant we served on real plates with real silverware, which was a surprise considering I figured we'd get take-out boxes and plastic forks. Each dish came with white rice, as is standard, and their fortune cookies were the quality ones (both of flavor and fortunes). Although we ate inside, there are some tables available outside as well.
We loved this place and wish we could transport it home. We will try to make another stop here before we leave for Cincinnati. You are lucky to have this wonderful gem of a restaurant in Fenton! A Taste of China receives my highest...
Read moreLets start off by saying go somewhere else, I recently moved down to the area and was craving some Chinese food. I then came upon this place that was nearby so I decided to give them a chance. After seeing the 4 star reviews, I called in for a order of chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and orange chicken. Calling in was fine, picking up the food was fine. Now this is why it gets a one star review, if I could put no stars I would …. The rice had no flavor what so ever and the chicken in the rice tasted old and chewy almost like they tossed some leftover chicken in the rice after. But I was hungry so I kept eating it… after getting 3/4 of the way down I started to taste a burnt flavor, I then started mixing up the rice and the smell got worse, the rice was burnt.. the orange chicken was another story… the container was filled to the top of sauce that looked unappealing almost like the orange chicken was swimming around in clear glue it was so disgusting. Me and my girl couldn’t finish what we had and ended up throwing it all away… it gets even worse… my stomach starting hurting and I had to rush to the bathroom, my girl also was complaining about stomach pain and had to go too…. This place was a disaster, please avoid at all cost, don’t listen to these fake reviews because I wouldn’t feed this...
