I am disappointed to be writing this review. I have seen the store for months but it was never open as my schedule is insane and they close at 1pm. I had looked them up online to browse the options and was very excited to see that they offered a bacon maple donut because I had one a few years back when traveling the country and I couldn’t wait to get one. I saw several things I wanted to try but for my first visit I settled on the maple bacon donut and the blackberry tart. I wanna start off by saying these pastries are very pleasing to the eyes. And the staff was very nice as well. I also wanna add that the prices are extremely fair. Now for the bad part, the donut had very little bacon (I had to pick off 1/4 of it bc it was chewy/white fat and not rendered until it was crispy. The bacon on a bacon donut should be crispy imo) and the maple was so overpowering. I would have just chalked it up to bad luck for me but then I tried the tart. The taste was great! The issue I had was with the amount of seeds. There were so many of them! I’m aware that blackberries have many seeds and I wasn’t sure if they could be easily removed so I looked it up and unfortunately it seems some efforts could have been made to prevent the seeds from taking over the spread. It’s really very disappointing because the tart would have been amazing, but the crushed pistachios meant I had to chew all the hard bits in case they were nuts and more times than not they weren’t nuts. I ended up not finishing the...
Read moreWow this place has the best doughnuts that I have ever eaten. I am so glad they have a shop now as I used to see them on Washington road (near Tip Top Beers) on certain weekends but every time I tried to get a pastry I wanted they were sold out. That alone speaks volumes on how good their pastries are. I am also glad they are located in North Augusta as that is a 25-30 min drive from me because this place can be dangerous for your waistline. It’s is that good that you will crave it more then once a week. We had their caramel and gingerbread lattes which were so smooth and delicious. Not overly sweet and complemented the pastries and kolache very well. The klobasnek kolache (sausage with jalapeños on top) were divine! The dough was so soft and the sausage was savory. Took 3 more home for my daughters so they can enjoy. The cinnamon rolls looked delicious as well so we brought 3 different types (Mexican hot chocolate cinnamon roll, sticky bun, and regular cinnamon roll) home with us. The service was 5 stars and the location and establishment itself is great as well! They do have one gender neutral bathroom. The lady at the front counter said that their pastries do change seasonally. Can’t wait to see what they have in store...
Read moreThis is a top quality pastry shop that is locally owned. Highly recommend.
The shop is on the corner, so it does not have a parking lot. Parking usually isn't an issue, and you can find on-street parking, or a spot in the parking lot next to Your Pie. Just be prepared to not park directly outside the front door when you arrive.
The shop is also quite small, so the line can be deceiving. It might be wrapped around the corner, but you may only wait 5 minutes. Seating inside is also quite limited, with only 2 or 3 tables for two people each. The shop is setup for takeout. Not a problem, just be prepared for that.
We ordered a cinnamon roll, apple fritter, and maple-bacon doughnut. I have also had the plain, chocolate, and blueberry doughnuts on other occasions. Everything is always warm out of the oven and delicious! Pastries are balanced and not super dense or chewy. Portions are also quite large, much bigger than doughnuts from Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. Prices reflect that, each pastry...
