April 28, 25. Went there to eat in. We have been carryout only for a while. It was typically good. Flautad were crispy and light. Really liked them. I am not a fan of the charro beans. Everything else there I have liked and I do have one suggestion. The shredded chicken in the enchiladas and flautas is dry. I avoid it. I wish they would undercook it and finish it when they fire it or, better IMHO, use chicken thighs. More forgiving, easier to prep and hold, and difficult to dry out in normal cooking. Went there last week, tonight (5/24/24), and have a dinner scheduled for Thursday. Tonight was Quesabirria (#42) and Spinach Enchiladas (#1). When I can't decide I get #10. And, as usual, guacamole and spicy salsa. (5/11/24) This was our fourth time there. The second time we went we ordered the same stuff we got the first time we went because it was so good. The next two times we ordered different things just because grownups do that and they were wonderful as well. Tonight we went back and it did not disappoint. They will cater to what you would like. So for instance, I do not like bell pepper, but if they've got it, and they usually do, they will sub out poblano peppers for the bell peppers. We love their chicken and rice, but if you would like to have shrimp and rice they can make that work too. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to check these folks out. The food spectacular. The staff are wonderful. And the owners are kind. Had a wonderful meal there last night. Two Enchiladas Tradicionales- one with enchilada sauce and one with mole. Both sauces were very good. The Arroz con Pollo was good as well. The salsas and guacamole were all very good. The picante was flavorful and something of a sleeper. I loved it. It is clear that they have yet to settle into the rhythm of running their service but I remember being Not Very Good my first week on a new job, too, so… And now... TACO TUESDAYS!!!!!!! The staff were lovely and on the ball. Last friday, which someone on here was complaining about vociferously, their their credit card reader crashed and they had to get a new one overnighted. Not quite sure how that is their fault, but if you were unable to go there friday, and didn't write a snarky review, please go back. I would strongly encourage you to try this place. The valley has needed a Mexican restaurant for a while. Let’s keep this one there, Highland Square! The price included margaritas and another drink so that was a big portion of the bill., If you're not drinking figure more in the 10-20 range. Sorry I did such a lousy job on the menu shots and I evidently cannot, in fact, count to 5: I am missing a page. I'll try to get...

I went in late at night on their 1 year anniversary and was served with genuine kindness. I got the fajitas mixta, I couldn't tell what was so different about it personally but it was definitely one of the best mexican dishes I had tasted, let alone some it the best food I have eaten. I grew to learn that the food was cooked by a Mom and Pops and the inspiration began with purely authentic food but a bit of americanized food is sprinkled in to let people try out food as they feel comfortable. I realized that I was truly being treated more as a guest than as a "customer" if you know what I mean before I was ready to leave, I would recommend coming by here even if it doesn't seem busy since you will enjoy your time here.

Things to note: The salsa is definitely a restaurant style salsa but still has an authentic flavor profile. The homemade hot sauce is a game changer here and I would absolutely pay for a pint or quart of it on takeout and use it on everything. My gf said that the charro beans are some of the best she has had and she grew up down south where there are many authentic mexican restaurants. The plating here makes everything look more appetizing and the experience is something worth your money; while it may not be expensive, it certainly...

We were welcomed very kindly by the host. Once seated our waitress came pretty quick. We got our chips and salsa. The chips were good, just typical chips and the salsa want bad. I've seen posts about it being watery, but it seemed to be the same consistency as any other Mexican restaurant I've been to. It did seem to be more flavorful than some of the other places I have visited. I believe what's pictured is the Seafood Nachos and the Chicken and Steak Fajitas. The food did come out hot. The nachos were good, there was a nice amount of flavor. The fajitas were just ok. Tasted like typical fajitas from a Mexican restaurant. This restaurant has steak sauce, so I asked for some, and that definitely helped the flavor of my food. The rice was moist, but just typical. Nothing to rave about. The beans were ok. Once again, just typical. I did have a few swigs of the water, tasted dirty to me. I didn't like it. Overall, the service was nice, the food was better than some of the other Mexican restaurants I've been to, but I can't say that it's authentic. It's definitely maybe authentic Tex-Mex cuisine, but not flat out Mexican. I would definitely go back. If you have any questions, let me know, I'll answer what I can...

Had high hopes for a Mexican restaurant located in the valley. Those hopes have been quickly dashed this evening. Was seated at 5:30 with a party of 7. our dinner order was taken at 6:04. We did not see food see until 7:10 pm. One order was missed completely and everyone’s rice was not even lukewarm. They didn’t not promptly get the missing meal and one of our party left at 7:40 pm. Ridiculous. The fajitas arrived and not sizzling and barely warm. Servers and kitchen were not prepared for opening week. The owner/mgr came to table with a slew of excuses on reasons for service failure. We watched 29 people walk out without being seated when there were many open tables. They were unprepared for a Friday night. Food was unseasoned and mediocre - at best. Requested bill and no-one came to collect. Service atrocious. Hopes for a great Mexican restaurant have been dashed in the valley. There is so much to fix for this brand new restaurant. They were very unprepared. One of the worst dining experiences of our life. Sad.
