So my girlfriend and I decided to come here for some UFC fights. We usually go to Buffalo Wild Wings, but we wanted to experiment while it was an underhyped fight card, not drawing a large crowd. We got there and it was a lot of college football going on with a few TV's on the prelims, so we were initially worried as to our potential fight-watching experience. But, when the actually pay-per-view started, more TV's made the switch and the audio was turned. It turned into a pretty good fight watching atmosphere.
The food.
We ordered the Gator's Combo Platter as an appetizer, including, "A hearty portion of four of YOUR FAVORITES. Wingers tossed in YOUR FAVORITE wing sauce, Mozzarella Sticks, Mini Burgers and Fried Onion Petals." -The wingers were thin little strips of chicken that were tossed in sweet Thai chili sauce. They were pretty ok, but not as good as the Miller Ale House zingers I feel like they're trying to imitate. -The mozzarella sticks were mozzarella sticks. -The mini burgers were the best part of the dish. It was like eating delicious White Castle burgers, but they were actually more meat than White Castle burgers. Yum. -The fried onion petals were not so ok. I like the concept a lot, but the onion petals that were underneath the breading were hard and unfriendly to bite.
Next, we decided to do one of specials they were offering that night, a wing flight! It was like a flight of beer or wine, but with wings. I got four different flavors, and I got three of each flavor. We got Scooteryaki, Thai peanut, peanut butter and jelly, and parmesan garlic. Scooteryaki was great, being a mix of teriyaki sauce and their homemade special Scooter sauce. Peanut butter and jelly was unexpectedly good. It's hard to describe, and you may not believe me, but as long as you avoid dipping them in ranch at all costs, you will like this flavor or wing. Bottom line on wings is that they were good. Not as thick and meaty as the ones from Buffalo Wild Wings, but you definitely won't be disappointed.
Finally, for dessert, we had an apple themed ice cream sunday that I can't find a description of online, but it was good. It had fried apples in it that you could munch on. Not mind blowing, but good, like I said.
Overall, I'm glad we came here. It was above average, I think, but...
Read moreOrdered a carryout order today from this Gators Dockside and I got 2 winger dinners. Both winger dinners had pretty much no sauce on them at all and the wingers were half the size they normally are. I called the manager to let him know and he said I could come back up and get new ones and I asked for a refund because I don't live close and when I did he insisted that I bring the wingers so he could take a look at them. which is understandable so I did. Went back up to Gators which he told me they would be ready in 15 minutes, which it takes me 20 minutes to get there and when I got there they were not ready I had to wait another 10 minutes before the manager would come see me. When he came out with the food he said he would trade me didn't even look at the wingers and told me he would refund me and tried to send me out the door. I asked him for the receipt for the refund and he seemed annoyed and started asking me questions, such as my name and phone number, so he could give me a refund... I don't understand how he would refund me if he didn't even remember my name. Another note I had to wait another 10 minutes because when he took the wingers I bought back and didn't look in the togo box he threw away my onion pedals so I had to wait to get some more. I believe West was the managers name and hopefully next time the management here has a more professional approach and is not so challenging towards the customer. I gave the review a 2 star because after it was fixed the food was great and the front door host...
Read moreWe had a great experience at Gators Dockside in Waterford Lakes tonight. Our wings and fries were hot and delicious and the beer was cold and good. It had been awhile since we went out for Gators wings and everything was great as usual. The only thing that put kind of a damper on the evening was when the party seated behind us started complaining that their food came out after ours and they were seated first. They were yelling at Janae our waitress and calling her a racist which was totally uncalled for and did not want to stay to eat their food. We can attest to the fact that we were seated first which makes sense that our food came out before theirs did...and it was only a matter of 5 minutes later that they received their food. The Manager came out to talk to the party and told them he would give them some free meal cards and they were still not satisfied which was ridiculous. I just wanted to document our dining experience tonight and let Janae's manager and GM know that she did everything right, was very professional, was very attentive to our needs and was very...
