I have been a member five years. We had no idea what Yacht clubs were about when we joined - we just needed a slip. What luck that we ended up at OYC. OYC owns their own land, building and marina. This means that everyone on the dock is a member, so you meet people fast. We quickly got involved in cruise outs to all sorts of other locations, crewed in informal sailboat races, and generally use our boat way more than we would otherwise. Read moreAwesome club. I belong to both Oakland and Encinal Yacht clubs and both are great clubs. Oakland has their own marina so you can berth your boat there. Great members, super social and well run under the current management. Encinal is about 100 yards walk from Oakland and also has great members and is very social.
