Mintleaf — Restaurant in Alameda

With a small indoor and about 4 tables outdoors, Mintleaf strikes a beautiful balance for pleasant dining. Service is prompt and friendly. Menu is focused, with strong traditional offerings couple with some nice house specials.

First time there was a delight. Served quickly and everything came out perfectly. We had the Sizzling Beef platter, wanton pho and a chicken curry sweet potato clay pot. Add in some coconut rice to soak up the yummy sauces and the meal was a hit!

Update: made it here a second time and it was equally delicious. This time my wife and I enjoyed their pho. Warm and flavorful broth with fresh cuts of beef and all the usual fixings. Definitely a good place to go!

Located in a strip mall, you'll likely never want for parking. (Plus, there's a bobba so next door!). I'll be going again when the family wants...

Great flavors all around. The reason for a star deduction is pork chops were off the shoulder end and not a center cut so there were a lot of little bones and cartilage, also they were extremely thin for a dish that's over 14 dollars a plate. It was seasoned nicely though. Also I never understood why you have to order rice on the side. Who is eating just a pork chop with no rice? Secondly the firecracker chicken was quite a letdown compared to the rest of the meal. Over cooked, mushy and not a good flavor. The Vietnamese restaurant caters more to the average American who probably wouldn't be excited to eat pork blood/tripe/and tendons because it's been ommited for a nontraditional crowd. I had a bad feeling as soon as I walked in a saw that almost every table had not been wiped down and had scraps and one table still unbussed. We waited and she wiped down a table for us. There seemed confusion by the 2 wait staff, despite only 2 other tables were occupied and they were done dining. Long story short. Food was meh and it took 10 minutes to get utensils to eat with.
