I have just finished driving 12 hours straight. (trading with my boyfriend occasionally to be safe) We are coming from Texas, and the whole way to Colorado I was stopping at ONLY I-hops to charge my phone because they are SAFE and RELIABLE; so this is the 1st incident I've had at any Ihop anywhere across the USA. I have been to at least 20 in this trip alone.
I was just in this IHOP to use the bathroom and get my phone charged because I'm from out of state from the West and don't know where I'm going. I was quickly helped by 2 very kind servers, both with long hair, who allowed me to sit for about 5-10 mins so that I could get a small charge on my phone. Both my phone and my boyfriends phone had died just before reaching Alamosa, CO and it was urgent to charge up my 1 phone and 1 power bank. (so as to not look greedy, we appreciate it so much.)
We are both terrible at directions and have to drive another 45mins to a ranch in the middle on nowhere 20 mins past Mosca, CO to see our family after finally being vaccinated. (This is at sunset so it would be pitch black when we arrive at the ranch.) This is a place and situation where if my phone dies I'll be stranded for dead in 20* weather and completely lost. I'm ETERNALLY GRATEFUL to those two previous servers with longer hair who let me get my phone to at least 28% without any trouble. 10/10 to the both of you!
A different server, a tall short haired human in a tie, very rudely came up to me and decided to project their frustration and anger at me when I was just sitting quietly in the waiting area making sure my phone was charging properly and not being stolen. When Iwas told I could charge my phone I offered to hide it in a chair where guests wouldn't see it and wait outside to avoid COVID-19 issues, but I was told "there is no way you could bother anyone right here. Today is slow. " -gestures to empty restaurant with only 2 tables not vacant both with 2 people each- (This was after an elderly couple demanded angrily to this tie wearing person that their table had asked for salt and pepper 10 minutes ago. He brought it to them quickly then turned around and let out that anger on me.)
Thanks for understanding the situation to the first 2 servers. I'm sorry to the last server, I don't know who hurt you but I'm not homeless and you are quite rude to assume as such. I hope that they get to take your position and run that restaurant better. Maybe then the very elderly senior citizens won't have to scream for salt and pepper an actual 10 minutes after they received their eggs, and less food would be wasted when you have to remake it because its cold like had to be done today.
I hope you all have a wonderful day if...
Read moreMy boyfriend, my dad, and I went in, sat down and waited, and waited, and waited some more. We sat there and watch the manager, (tall, young, skinny guy), the waitress, and 2 other employees, go in and out of the kitchen quite a few times. There was only one other occupied table, which had 1 toddler, and I believe 4 adults, they were almost done eating when we arrived. They waited 20 minutes, after they had finish, for their bill. After the waitress finally gave them their bill, she comes and asks what we would like to drink. I told her, we all know what we would like to eat, she insisted on only getting the drinks, so we told her what we wanted and waited 10 minutes for her to return with 2 coffee's and a soda. Then she started to walk away, my dad stopped her, told her what he would have, and she gave him a disgusted look, my boyfriend and I then told her our orders, she went into the kitchen, it took about 30-40 minutes for our food to come out, my order was wrong, but I ate it anyway, because I didn't want to wait any longer. It took an additional 20 minutes to get our refills, and when she did come to give us our refills, I opened my mouth, told her my order was wrong, and that waiting to be served for that long, when the restaurant's empty is ridiculous and uncalled for. In the end, the manager, whom kept ignoring me, did take my order off the ticket as well as the soda, and my coffee. The only recommendation I have, is don't waste your time, or money. This was the worst IHOP I've ever been to, and I've lived in several states and used to travel quite a bit, IHOP was always one of my favorite stops no matter what state I was in, but I'll never walk through the door of the...
Read moreIf I could leave less than a 1 star, I would as this particular IHOP doesn't even deserve this one star. My husband and I ordered off the $6 menu. I got the burger and he got the chicken tenders and pancakes. My son got a pancake sundae for $3.50. We ordered 2 drinks which are 1.50 each. Sales tax for restaurant food is 4%. First of all, it took 45 minutes to even get our food . The pancakes my husband got were terrible! They tasted like box pancake mix, not the pancakes IHOP are known for AND they shorted him a tender. We brought this to the attention of the staff and it took another 25 minutes to even get that tender. Our bill came out to a little over $20. We spoke to the manager and explained that my husband didnt even eat his meal because it just wasn't good, plus with how long we waited we didn't want to pay for his meal but we had no problems paying for the rest of our meal. The manager said she would comp his meal. When we paid it ended up being almost $23. She said because of taxes, but that's a bold face LIE! Not only did she charge us for all the meals, but somehow we got charged even more than the first ticket. We asked if she really took off the price of my husbands meal and she said yes, its just that much because of taxes. Math doesnt add up. A $6 meal and $3.50 pancake sundae plus 2 $1.50 drinks only adds up to 12.50 plus a 4% tax adds up to about $15. We were lied to and stolen from on top of the terrible food and customer service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME...
