I went in to Arctic Roadrunner a little after 6 o’clock this afternoon or this evening and I ordered a cod sandwich. Long story short they always have to have cash that I go to the bank to get cash so I could go get us a hamburger or sandwich there I walked in. I ordered the sandwich and then I said I’ll be right back. I said I forgot my cash so I’m crippled and it took me more than a minute. Probably to run out to my car get the cash out. It was parked in a handicap parking spot and ran back in, and there is just that quick less than a minute, they had canceled my order so I had to wait in line and then when I ordered it and about 10 more people came and it was I waited a good 15 minutes and when I asked about it, it hadn’t even started. They said it’ll be a couple minutes and that was after I’ve been there for 10 minutes waiting because I ate a whole bunch of pickles waiting because I was hungry And then when the manager egg got angry and I said you know forget the sandwich I just want my money back and Manager so awful this courteous you know that thing about the customers always right she was rude and she said these are just 15-year-old how look at how rude you’re been to them and I thought you know what I’m 76 years old I’m handicapped all I did was go get my money and then I had to wait because I couldn’t wait for me to bring my cash back in and so I had to wait behind other people and then to wait another 10 minutes and it still wasn’t ready and all these other people who both in front of me and behind me I got served there was nobody waiting in line when I asked where was my sandwich and they said well, they had that it was still be a couple more minutes. I could not believe it and then she came out there and she said what a horrible person I was I’m 76 years old. I’m not a horrible person. I’m a kind, generous woman who donates to grandparents raising grandchildren because I feel for kids and I appreciate those young girls. I wasn’t angry with them and I wasn’t pissy with them. She was pissy with me whoever she was rude and and told me take it up with Richard I said he’s dead and he would never behave like that him or Annie. They were the nicest couple running that company. If something would’ve happened he would’ve said. I’m sorry that happened to you. We’ll see what we can do to get the order ready instead of oh you know here we give you all your money back. I didn’t want it . I took that $8.80 change there. I already left $1.20 tip so I’m a good customer. She said go away goodbye. It’s like you know what there’s a saying this is if you don’t think the customers right just tell one Del tell 100 and I’m going to that should not be any rudeness I’ve been in there many many times I’ve never had to wait for a halibut sandwich or a cod sandwich 15 minutes. It was...
Read moreI want to start off by saying my family and I like their burgers and this is one our favorite places to go. However, my issue today was their complete disregard to many of the safety standards majority of other businesses have adapted during the current pandemic. Arctic Roadrunner chooses to be a cash only business, which is already an issue when dealing with multiple people handling money. I personally witnessed the cashiers handle my money, and then walk over to the milkshake station and touch the inside of the cups before putting the milkshake inside, touch the wrappers of the food, and our napkins they placed in our bags. They did not wash hands in between customers.
If you did not bring cash in, they have an atm available, which I did not see them sanitize once while I was in the restaurant, and several people used it. They also have a notepad to write our names on, for tracing purposes in case they have a positive case. This is a good thing, but not when you have everyone using the same pen, and do not have a place for sanitized pens and a place to put used pens that need to be sanitized.
I realize this is a lot of work, but every other business I have been to has adapted safety measures such as going cashless, constantly sanitizing objects people frequent, and overall taking extra precautions. This is for the safety of your customers, your employees, and your business, in hopes that you do not have to shut down and potentially lose thousands of dollars.
I also think they have had 4 months to modernize their business model to fit the current issues at hand, and going to a more digital model would greatly benefit them. Being able to place orders online as well as pay online would greatly reduce many of the issues above, as well as possible having people available to run food outside to cars, which would protects crowds gathering near the register area of people waiting for their food. I am sure there will be an argument of the cost of running credit cards, which is rarely more that $.05 per dollar, and I for one would not mind a slight increase in food prices to make up for this if it is needed to keep...
Read moreThe homemade fries are great. Had the burger meat on our Arctic Cheeseburgers been the same size as the bun, and had they they not been out of hot 🍎 cider packets, it would've been a 5⭐ rating. Sometimes the hamburger meat is too salty, but not on this day. Otherwise, the fire place was pleasant and it wasn't too busy or loud at 8:00pm when my company and I went in for dinner. However, the homemade shakes are too expensive ($9 at the time). I did notice the flower boxes were removed from the windows out front, as that was one of the reasons why I go, for the aesthetics, mostly for the vintage-vibe decorating and seeing my dad and his lifelong friend's engraved names on one of the brass plaques by the front door and ATM machine. They both were long time customers of Rich's, both, one of his first customers when he first opened in a little 8' x 30' lean-two trailer on Arctic & 25th ave (though, since, they both have passed away). We loved chit chatting with Rich, him going table to table greeting and talking with all the customers who came in, a very distinct memory of mine. I love the outdoor eating by the creek and their umbrella tables, even the condiments section as well, as it's always clean and orderly. The Arctic cheeseburgers and fries were cooked in about 10-15 mins, so not bad timing at all this time. Definitely provided good memories for me growing up, since I was 10 years old. Thanks for existing! A great place for sure! ✨😊🍔🍟🍔🔥😀...
