Common Grounds Espresso — Restaurant in Alaska

My roommate and I stopped by this morning around 8am in August 16th, 2024. We were waiting in line and noticed that the other line was moving faster than the line we were in (the other line had 3 vehicles go through before the line we were in even moved). Figured whatever, maybe that line is just getting drip coffee or easy orders. So we get up to the windows and place our order, a 16oz ice coffee and a 24oz chai frappe. While waiting for our order, the batistas were making other drinks for people that they saw pull into line before they started on ours! Maybe the customers in the other line called ahead or maybe they're regulars or friends but that is ridiculous. So we get our drinks and the ice coffee is the right size but my frappe was only a 16oz. When we brought this to the batistas attention she said no, you said 16oz, and then turned away and went to the back area. I never get a 16oz drink and I heard my roommate clearly say 24oz chai frappe. I would of gladly waited and paid the size difference and even tipped again, as I know people make mistakes and mishear things sometimes, especially working next to a busy roadway. . And to top it all off the chai frappe wasn't very good at all. Review for Old Seward Hwy Location.

When I first starting going to Common Grounds, it was amazing... Smiles, great service, amazing food and coffee. (There are 2 gals that are truly amazing but I think they have either moved on or moved locations) Sad. 😔

Unfortunately now... No smiles, rudeness, lack of good customer service at times and the coffee is hit and miss (sometimes watered down or burnt tasting)

On 9/25, the worst coffee I've received yet and I get the same drink everytime.

Not to mention the environment...bees flying all around the window area putting both customers and employees at risk of getting stung. For some, that is a hospital visit.

On my last visit 9/25, one of the employees got stung and I had to fight to get a bee out of my vehicle before I could leave. Unacceptable.

I'm speaking out for the safety of both the employees and customers. I believe there is room for...

Most of the servers are AWESOME which is why I keep going back aside from it being convenient. However, of course one of them has messed up twice on my order. This evening, I said no to whip cream and she not just put whip cream in my drink, but she PUT WHIP CREAM IN FLOWING OUT LIKE CRAZY WHIP CREAM. I did complain right then and there that I did not want whip cream, she didn't seem sorry, she said it but it didn't sound like an oops sorry. I've been there over 10 times and it has always been great service until this one girl. Long brown hair. May refuse...
