Hamburger Haven — Restaurant in Alaska

I grew up with this place. First burger was in 82' loved it. Back then It was pure bliss to get a bacon cheese burger fries and a chocolate shake from here. Moved away to TX in 98 but visited in 2010 and still great, but unfortunately the dream has finally died as this revisit in 2023 the quality fell way off and prices have doubled. Bacon cheese and choc shake only so no fries was 14.50. Shake was the same unique texture so prob same machine making it and the flavor seemed to be the same but was very weak as though less choc mix was used. The real disappointment was the "beef" patty. Was definitely not fresh meat prepared on the griddle more like a pre-cooked frozen patty heated in a microwave and to even claim it was actual meat is questionable. It had an odd taste and was chewy and rubbery. Everyone one in our party of 7 had the same complaint. The bacon looked great but was a bit chewy leaving me with the impression it had been prepared hours earlier and just reheated. This place is really good! Tried it for the first time today, had a bacon & egg cheeseburger and a side of fried oysters. Wow. First bite to last, that was one delicious meal! The burger alone gets 5 stars, it was everything I was hoping it would be. Rich and flavorful, there was nothing "fast-food" about it. Was especially impressed with the oysters though, for a tiny little "burger joint" these fried oysters were divine! They don't know it yet but I'm coming back tomorrow for more. The special of the day is always a good burger. I have noticed if I go intothe restaurant great service, good price. If I call and order for delivery, everything seems to be 1$ more expensive.
