Was recommended by a friend of my girlfriends that said it was pretty good a while back. I know that recently the owners were changed and I have no idea what the food was like prior to this changed, but when we went it was absolutely awful.
When we were ordering, I got a look around and the place looks honestly a bit run down and not that great. The seats are torn up and the walls are all beat up.
About 10 minutes later the waiter came back and told me the item I ordered, an Eggs Benedict, they didn't have enough ingredients for and I had to choose something else. I should have just walked out right then, but I decided to stick it through and ordered something else.
Worst mistake right there. The food was awful and the service was worse. It was also over $50 for just 2 entrees and a couple drinks, nothing else. Everything on the menu was incredibly expensive (More than it should be, I should say) and does not prove that its anywhere worthy of those prices.
Never go here. Go to village inn if you're looking for good breakfast food, or look for somewhere else that isn't here. It'll save you money and...
Read moreFrom out of town, Googled "breakfast" and found barbies, pulled in and it was slammed. Drove to Harleys and it wasn't too bad. First thing I see "DAILY SPECIALS: RIBEYE AND EGGS 16.99" So I'm thinking meh, it's probably gonna be an overcooked flank steak but whatever. I could not have been more wrong.
First of all, they put a little piece of watermelon on the plate. BONUS WATERMELON. TOTALLY UNPROMPTED. BEAUTY. Then I cut into the massive 12 oz ribeye which I ordered medium rare, and guess what? Medium rare! Perfectly seasoned! Good quality cut of meat as well. Absolutely fantastic steak. Over easy eggs cooked perfectly. Wheat toast was a little more on the bread side than toast, but they are whopper slices that look made from scratch, delicious.
Service was excellent, portions were very generous, and the prices were just too reasonable. 13/9, A+, 140%, next time I'm in Anchorage I know exactly where I'm getting...
Read moreI ordered the country bumpkin with fried pork loin and my wife ordered the sourdough pancakes -- and she asked if pecans could be added, which they were happy to do. I rarely order anything called "country fried..." anything because all too often they are bland. But these fried pork loins were excellent. The sourdough pancakes were delicious with the good hint of sourdough goodness without being overpowered. I was disappointed by how long it took our order to come out -- several tables around us received their food before us and the staff said it was because their orders were easier. This is probably true -- but still -- the wait was too excessive. I guess they didn't have the fryer hot yet or the cook accidentally skipped our order until reminded. Very nice and accommodating staff though, so they still get 4...
