Java Hut — Restaurant in Alaska

Absolutely love the wonderful baristas at Java Hut. I drive in from Chugiak just for a coffee on days I don't feel like powering up my espresso machine at home. I'm extremely picky and they all know it. I like my coffee either a sludge cup or a not to sweet, not too hot latte. They've also gotten in my preferred Chai now, for the days I'm not in a coffee mood. My kiddos love that they have drinks for them too. My oldest loves the fun monthly creations or getting the daily special as a steamer. My middle child is allergic to almost everything, but she can have strawberry Italian sodas safely. Becca has even washed and sanitized a blender so that my 4 year old could have a smoothie without having a major allergic reaction, which is something I love about them! They care that their customers are taken care of, even as a 1 year old that was just finding all the mile long (or so it feels like) list of allergies to entire food families. It was 15min before closing and I had someone in front of me and when it was my turn I was trying to order 5 white chocolate mocha this evening and barista told me that when it was my turn to be serve it was 1 minute after they close so the espresso is shut down which means they weren’t able to serve what I original wanted but suggested she can make a cold brew drink. Since I waited in line minus well since I love you guys drink. When it’s time to pay the barista had ask if I wanted to add a tip and I said not at this moment. Instead of saying have a great evening the respond I got is “next time you should come earl then” with a attitude tone. I recently discovered them about 2 weeks ago while waiting for the kids to finish driving school at the other end of the parking lot.

The baristas are super friendly and patient while looking over the menu. My espresso drinks always have that fresh, roasted taste which isn't very common at other coffee huts. They're now my favorite coffee hut. I live in Palmer and make sure to stop here whenever I'm in Eagle River, which has been 3x a week recently.
