We used to go to Jimmy sushi when we lived in Anchorage. Now we live in Eagle River and thought to give it a try. We did not enjoy the service that much. I really dislike it when a server comes over and takes your order and writes down nothing. Whatever they do that they usually forget something... Which he did.
What was really frustrating is the server offered to bring extra tempura and said of sushi for her bento box, she was excited cuz she loves tempura and not a sushi fan... ... I love sushi. When our food came it had the sushi, and not the extra tempura vegetables that he offered. When we mention this, he got a little frustrated with us and said no "This doesn't come with extra tempura, it comes with sushi". We reminded him that he was the one who said we could substitute it. He was very frustrated. He did fix it, but didn't seem happy about it.
I thought the sushi was okay. None of the roles were fantastic, but they were fine. The prices were kind of high. I specifically ended up choosing roles on the lower price end because I didn't want to spend $18 a roll!!! I got the Philadelphia which was fine and then one was jalapenos in it, it was tasty and fine, but the pieces were so big. It was impossible to eat it in a bite. Bite. So the role fell apart a lot.
I probably won't go back there, I'd rather drive somewhere else and get cheaper and better. Sushi and hopefully better service. But if my friend really wanted to go there, I'd go...
Read moreI ordered sushi there a few weeks ago and it was not good, it was poorly made and was not as it said on the menu. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I have heard such good things but tonight affirmed that I will not order from here again. Tonight I said letâs try their Chinese food, and I spent almost $100 on four items, and they came in styrofoam containers that were practically 1/3 full.
The orange chicken and general tsoâs chicken, both were mostly just breading, some pieces didnât even have a piece of chicken in them and if there was a piece it was tiny and dried out. The sauces came on the side and the general tsoâs was just the chili oil sauce that was too hot for anyone to eat.
The pineapple fried rice had chunks of what looked like canned pineapple, and the rice wasnât even fried it was like white rice with a dash of soy sauceâŠ..
The only thing that was somewhat okay was the lo mein, even that wasnât great and there wasnât enough in the box for 4 of us to have, which for $20+ I expect a full order.
Iâm not sure if they have just gone down hill, or if they came under new management, but I will not be ordering from here ever again. Way over priced, skimped on servings, and just...
Read morePaid $50 and a $10 tip for terrible food i didn't even finish. I wish i haven't left the tip now đ© I got sesame chicken, the miso ramen and wonton soup. Hardly any broth in the wonton. And they could seperate the sesame sauce from the chciken but couldn't seperate the noodles from the miso broth so it wouldn't be extremely soggy by the time it got to me. The fried chicken for the sesame chicken was either extremely old chicken left out or chicken that sat in the fryer for too long, the chicken was so dried out and hard! Half of my plate was literally just hard pieces of tempura with no chicken even inside it. Miso ramem had like no flavor at all. Wonton had way too much flavor, all i taste is just cabbage in the broth, way too overpowering. Sesame sauce was just super vinegary with no other flavor to it. The tempura vegetables and shrimp were extremely soggy and had no flavor to them. I would say not to waste your time or money on the food here, i was extremely disappointed. I should have known it was going to be terrible when i walked in and saw what a mess the actual restaurant was, extremely dirty and cluttered. This restaurant just has a lot...
