This review is strictly about the bar service—not the pizza. I want to make that distinction upfront because the food side of this establishment has nothing to do with what I experienced.
Now, let’s talk about the bartender working the second shift. He’s a large white man who goes by the name “Tiny,” and from what I’ve gathered, he’s been working there for over two years. Unfortunately, that experience hasn’t translated into quality service.
To put it plainly, Tiny is the worst bartender I’ve ever encountered. He doesn’t know how to make basic cocktails—couldn’t get a Long Island right, and didn’t even know how to make an Old Fashioned. But what’s worse than the drinks is the attitude. He’s consistently rude, especially toward employees and J-1 students. I’ve seen it firsthand and heard similar stories from others.
What really crossed the line was his behavior around tipping. He actively approaches guests to ask why they didn’t tip him, sometimes even pressuring them. I experienced this myself—after receiving a poorly made drink, I returned the next day with friends for a get-together. Tiny came up to me and said, “Oh, you didn’t like the drink? Why didn’t you tip me? You need to give me a tip,” in a way that felt aggressive and inappropriate.
I’ve heard this same story from multiple people, especially J-1s and minorities. It’s not just me. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was uncalled for and deeply...
Read moreSuper bummed because we were craving pizza after a day of hiking. Stopped in and ordered a create your own large to go (that phrase is important) but ended up with the Park Road BBQ pizza with the added toppings I ordered (which made for a pricey mistake). Why this matters is my husband doesn't eat bacon, hates red onion (that was easy to pick off so that's no big deal) and hates cilantro. The bacon and cilantro are chopped so small and sprinkled on that trying to remove those were impossible. This is why when I ordered I specifically said I was ordering a "create my own BBQ chicken pizza with olives, mushrooms and pineapple". I should have checked the box before we drove back to Cantwell to devour our dinner. I understand we're all human and make mistakes. So this is a learning opportunity for the young staff to make sure they are taking the proper order and for us as customers to trust, but verify before leaving with a...
Read moreStill working out kinks with staff that apparently don’t care. Went I. To order and while waiting we witness awful staff guest relations.
Guest came to counter who had ordered previously and others at her table were served and she was not. She inquired with 3 different staff and 2 were extremely rude and uncaring and the 3rd was just clueless and stood there.
So we left and as we were leaving we asked by rude staff member 2 if we wanted to order so as he was clueless as to his attitude I had to educate him as to what bad attitudes are.
Where was management or even far worse-could the first 2staff had been management?
The princess lodges are staffed by kids and apparently although nice are not trained.
The lodges could not be further from the cruise ship experience. The land tours are a huge let down. The cruise...
