McDonald's — Restaurant in Alaska

Yes it is McDonald's and yes I gave it FIVE STARS! I went in to avoid difficulties that often arise (almost always) from trying to use digital coupons &/or Android Pay at the drive thru. It was close to lunch but it wasn't in a full lunch mob mode yet but even with several customers there was almost ZERO wait to get my order in. Cashier was a young man who was polite, competent, and friendly. Actually put the right amount of cream & sugar in the coffee (more often then not they don't. Pushing that button more then once must get difficult or to hard for some :). He knew what was up with Android Pay & App coupons AND BOTH SCANNERS worked! Food (they are special order breakfast sandwiches that usually DONT get the cheese I always pay extra for) came out from the back so FAST I started looking over the counter to see if they had a Star Trek style food replicator! 😎. It was so fast I really thought it was either going to be old/cold or wrong all together. Nope hot, fresh, and EXACTLY what I ordered. For once the food I got looked like the food on the menu screen. Bathroom was clean as was the part of the store I saw. If I HAD TO find something negative about my visit to this McD's the only things that even come to mind are : 1. When leaving turning left out onto the main road can take some time even with a middle turn lane (which both sides are the road are utilizing). 2. Their getting the food out so fast got my hopes up for the previously mentioned Star Trek style food replicator. 😎 Neither of these are worth dinging them even a tenth of a star. • edit * As of January and Feb of 2023 there has been a drastic turnaround in consistency, wait time, and overall experience. The drive through is plowed, and the fries have not been cold a single time in the last two months. Thank you to whoever is shaping things up. Great mcdonalds -----------------------------__------------------------------- I am a 24yo over weight male who absolutely eats too much fast food. This is a McDonald's that consistently disappoints. If you have 30-45 minutes for the drive through and prefer your fries cold then this is your spot. Every single time I visit without a doubt i find myself saying wow I've been in this drive through for over 30 minutes. Absolutely amazing how good the burgers taste despite being absolutely mangled upon opening. Half the time you get random toppings on your DQP including the wrong onions and crispy chicken sandwich pickles. If you are in eagle River please spend your money at Arby's right down the road. The fries are Always fresh fresh and the burgers are consistently beautiful and perfectly made. The people are also the nicest around. If a manager or owner ever reads this, I have been eating at this McDonald's for 5 years and it is at an all time low. Please please please figure out how to manage this place properly because you have all the tools to make great food and it is painfully obvious how little you care. Do not order from them and expect it to be delivered when they tell you. Both on door dash and McDonald’s the time increases almost every minute to a later time for delivery. They will not tell you there are no delivery drivers available either. You have to pay for that still even if you don’t get your food at all. They will let you follow their tracker for your order and that’s it. When I called an hour after my order was supposed to be here they still had no dasher to bring me my food and wouldn’t refund it because McDonald’s had already made it. They offered a CREDIT of $13 on food I spent $38.19 on. They stated they would not refund the whole amount because the food was made. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t going to get it because there were no delivery drivers. Even when I asked why they are offering delivery with no drivers they said I couldn’t have a refund. So this is food literally no one is going to eat and they offered a fraction of what I paid.

Edit to add I called my bank and told them what happened. I’m getting a full refund. When they are supposed to be providing a service you have every right to call your bank and cancel the ENTIRE amount because they failed to provide the service they are advertising. I hope this makes at least one customer go somewhere else.
