Well I’ve been a customer for a few years and have enjoyed the sushi. Today went in for lunch and the rice was off. It was dry and stale tasting. I’ve eaten the food plenty of times to know that it wasn’t as good as normal. Waiter asked if everything was okay, explained rice was no good. Waiter became a little defensive and asked us explain to the chef what was wrong in front of the whole restaurant. It was awkward and very strange. Waiter kept the food on the table, despite us saying we didn’t like it. Chef very nicely and politely kept asking us to try something else. We relented and he made us some salmon and tuna which was delicious. Bill finally came and we were charged the full amount for everything ordered, despite it being hardly touched.
The whole situation was handled very poorly.
Paid for uneaten bad food.
Asked to complain to the chef directly in front of other customers.
Credit where credit is due, although pressed to get a small dish, the tuna and salmon was great, but the chef really guilt tripped us hard to take some food. He asked us several times and after he told us he feels bad we were leaving hungry we finally relented.
In any case, the whole thing was very unpleasant and paying for an unpleasant experience is extra lame.

Read moreDisappointed. My whole family likes to go out to restaurants minimum every other month before the pandemic. It is a tradition I am starting with my adult children. Before the pandemic we would go to Samurai Sushi. Loved it. My daughter is allergic to wheat flour/gluten (has end up at the ER). She always found something she could it that wasn't deep fried or imatation crab (wheat). So we looked at the menu and avoiding anything she couldn't have & focused on whole seafoods like snow crab straight from the shell..said so on the menu. So we assumed no imatation crab. We were wrong. The only thing she could have was vegetable sushi. Really? The chef cane and told us that is all she could have. Well that and we "could go to another restaurant". Verbatim. Real professional chef. So of course we will do just that. Lost our business. Tip paid $35 to the waitress because she was so sweet & kind. For a $160 meal. So chef thanks. I mean really because my daughter lives with me and we go out at least once a week but if she can't eat there I will not either even if she is not with me and I am with on if my son's....

After a long day of exploring Alaska, we were craving something comforting and flavorful—Samurai Sushi delivered exactly that. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, setting the tone for a great dining experience.
Our party of seven was seated right away, and the service remained friendly and attentive throughout. We ordered a variety of dishes including the salmon teriyaki bento box, tuna and salmon sashimi, chirashi, galbi, and tempura udon. Every dish was satisfying, but the standout was the incredibly fresh, thick-cut sashimi that melted in our mouths. To top it off, we shared a plate of fried Oreos—an unexpectedly fun and delicious way to end the meal.
Portions were generous, the pricing was very reasonable, and the quality was excellent across the board. If you’re in the area and looking for a hearty, authentic Japanese-Korean meal, Samurai Sushi is absolutely worth a visit.
