Fly out of Anchorage. Like we do. And if I haven’t been able to grab dinner - I really enjoy grabbing an IPA and beef and blue pocket to eat on the go. I did just that - stopped for a quick beer and a pocket to go. I was told they had no of their own IPAs at the moment and had only Twister Creek IPA. HUH?! You’re a brewery - that’s like going to the moose’s tooth and they say “Ooops, just Midnight Sun Sockeye Red here. “Ok fine, I’ll have a Twister Creek, from Denali Brewing. Meh. Then….I opened the pocket. The pita style pocket bread was sooooooogggggyyy as all get out. Ever eat a soggy, meat filled pocket of goo? Don't, as it was all over me. I saw it and said “oh no, this is gonna suck” as I bit into the wet, deteriorating sack of goosh. Granted the filling was delish. That pocket was super duper wet. Silver Gulch, you’ve become ridiculous. I guess I can go across the way to 49th. Shrug.

Mediocre food and terrible service. Almost 10 minutes after being seated, we still hadn't seen our waitress or had our drink order taken. We had been seated for 40 minutes before we received our order, and our entrees arrived before the appetizer (which we had to point out). Had to ask for Ketchup twice, and fries were cold by the time we got it. As for the food, the salmon on the salmon sandwich was overcooked to the point it literally left dry salmon flakes on my plate when I cut it in half. As you can tell from the picture, it was also under-sized given the size of the bun. The Buffalo chicken salad had way too much buffalo sauce on the chicken. The reuben rolls were good and probably the only do-again.

For an airport dining experience, they did a phenomenal job. I wasn’t really in a hurry, but the service was fast and efficient. You pay right away so as soon as you’re done with your meal you can leave. My son who’s living in Alaska was right about the 49th State Brewery burger. It’s was so good. They serve their fries with a dipping sauce that is 🔥. It’s paired well with their 907 Pale Ale. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have the Irish For Hazy IPA, but the 907 was very good. Sorry prepared food pictures. I was too eager to dig in. Just visualize a big juicy burger with melted cheddar and along with a nice size serving of fries.

My third time was today in giving this place a chance over the course of a year. It was terrible each time. The first time they were out of nearly everything and the bartender was rude. The second time I tried dining here, hoping the last time was an anomaly— but sadly it was equally disappointing. My third time, today, was the worst.

My friend and I ordered 2 drinks at our table. My drink came out incorrectly (Diet Coke when I ordered ginger ale). His was fine. Then we ordered our food. Server was polite but over worked (one server for whole place).

We ordered two pizzas. I ordered the “solstice” switching out the tomato for black olives. Add cheese. My friend ordered the “red eye.” We waited 27 minutes for the pizzas. We also waited 20 minutes for the server to come and bring a 2nd drink and a refill for me. He finally went to the bartender with our glasses hoping to get more drinks. The bartender told us to talk to our server but the server never came by in 20 mins!

The pizzas finally came out — barely warm and the cheese already congealed. Mine was not at all what I ordered. It was a cheese pizza with a sprinkle of black olives. I have seen pizzas from the freezer at the grocery store look 100x better than these did. Mine had No extra cheese and none of the rest of the ingredients that were supposed to come on a Solstice pizza. I sent it back immediately (something I truly rarely do—maybe once in 7-10 years)

As we had waited nearly 30 minutes for these pizzas, we didn’t have time before our flight to wait another 30 for a new pizza to be made so I left without dinner and that is the end of it. We will never be back.

I RARELY give a negative review because I know businesses have bad days and things go wrong once in a while. That said, we are now 3/3 with very poor experiences. This was imy last time choosing...

I have a really hard time giving any place that serves beer one star. I also have a really hard time leaving before ordering food; did both, here's why:

Beer list is nice, and after spending a lot of time drinking too many microbrews in Alaska, this was "one for the road" as it were. After being seated, I kept paging through the menu to find the missing page with sandwiches, wraps, or something other than the two large entrees and 15-some "Carry-Ons" which by description sounded like a Hot Pocket and visually (as I left) looked like a pita with some stuff shoved in.

So, you either order one of the entrees, one of the extraordinarily overpriced salads that are all basically the same unless you pay $5+ for a protein, or a gussied-up Hot Pocket.

Nobody came over to take orders in the few minutes I was seated, so fortunately I was able to avoid the awkward "sorry, this menu sucks and I'm outta here" conversation. It seems that they're serving things you'd buy from those corner airport kiosks with bananas and packs of gum, only for sit-down prices. Nah, Humpy's is too close to make that great a sacrifice.

Shame, because my travel got ALL kinds of screwed up and I sure could have used a...

I’m actually an employee at the airport and regularly get lunch at silver gulch but yesterday really ticked me off. I had no problem waiting in line because it looked really busy and I know what it’s like to work in food service. I order my food and the old lady with white hair and glasses asked me to spell out my name. I spell it out and she was still getting it wrong, so I showed her my badge so she can see. She says the price and I give her my cash and then I immediately saw that she didn’t give me my employee discount. In a nice way, I pointed it out to her and she rolls her eyes at me and moves onto the next customer. I would’ve let it slide if she said sorry but the fact that she rolled her eyes at me. I didn’t even give her attitude and she does that?? I’m more mad that she rolled her eyes at me than not getting the discount. If she reacts like that when someone points out that she did something wrong, she shouldn’t be working in general. They say respect your elders but people younger than them should get that respect returned and she absolutely did not do that. I hope you guys speak to her cause the lady needs an...
