Espresso drinker? Steamdot has the best espresso in Alaska due to the proper use of the Slayer Espresso Machine. A Metro vibe and a focus on brighter coffees define the experience.
Every sip, of espresso, showcases the vibrant aspects of their coffee. Pared with a seltzer to cleanse the palate gives a grand espresso experience. The cafes machine allows a long pre infusion phase of the extraction process allowing coffee to be ground finer thereby increasing extraction yields.
Single Origin coffee is roasted to showcase the unique origin character of each coffee. A focus on quality is evident with most bags, depending on the sub species, containing small dense high altitude beans. I have yet to buy a bag that has roasting defects.

Prices were unbelievable too. We scored a cortado and a mocha for $9. Hope they are doing well and continue...

Today, dirty dishes strewn about (as pictured), which were actually adjusted but not removed, they just sat there in a disgusting heap. Slow, unengaging service. AND IF YOU HANDLE DIRTY DISHES, DONT GO ON A LIFT THE SEAL ON THE MILK WITHOUT WASHING YOUR HANDS! Cross contamination is basic food handling service knowledge, and Anchorageās supposedly elite level flagship cafe should be doing a better job than this.
Mistakes are sometimes made, and are excusable. Iām not unreasonable. Basic sanitation violations are not excusable. Letās step it...
