This new Asian Buffet, dish-for-dish, is not as good as some of the other already established buffets in town, but it has a couple of stand outs that could make it very successful. New places arenusually best when new. This one comes out above-average.
The pick-your-own raw ingredients hibachi station is the highlight of this place. I would like to see a wider variety of vegetables to choose from on it, like carrots, cabbage, peas etc. They have onions, green pepper, jalapeños, and broccoli, plus raw chicken, pork, shrimp, and beef. You can also put noodles or rice with it in a bowl that you pass over to the hibachi cook to prepare fresh. They have a choice of 3-4 sauces (each with a spicy variant) to have them toss it in, as well. It is quick, fresh, hot, and tasty!
Their sushi choices actually have real fish in a rainbow roll and shrimp sashimi, but the rest are standard buffet "sushi" that are made from processed sea-leg and vegetables. The rice in them is not sushi-grade. It is an above-average buffet-grade sushi, though.
Everything else on the buffet tables was very bland, with sweet as the only taste. The General Tso's chicken was just a honey sauce with no discernable ginger or spice. The sesame chicken had the same sauce on it with no trace of sesame seeds or sesame flavor. The bourbon chicken was acceptable, but again, it was sweet. It was one of the few dishes not fried, and the chicken had a touch of charred crust on the edges, while the sauce was a little bit darker than the honey-sweet stuff on the other 3 chicken dishes. The lack of won-ton soup is an error on their part.
There was actually a pan of steaks on the buffet, not particularly well seasoned, well done and thin. They were surprisingly tender and tasted ok when dipped in their teriyaki sauce, but the teriyaki sauce itself was overly thick and extremely sweet. Just a touch is all we could tolerate.
Overall, we would go back and get only hibachi and select sushi, and be very happy paying $12 for unlimited trips. Just avoid the other stuff, except the safe standards like sauteed green beans or steamed rice, unless you just have a...
Read moreDinner with the fam tonight was ok. Wait time took a few minutes , there were 8 of us. There was a bit confusion on seating but they finally got it together. However, there are a few things that can make a big difference and I’m sure they will improve. Upon walking in, the first thing I notice is if a restaurant is clean. The floors were terrible. Trash and food everywhere. It’ll probably be good to get a cleaning crew. That way tables can be cleaned properly and making sure beneath the tables are clean as well for guests to sit comfortably and eat. I had to ask for our table to be cleaned, which the waitress took a napkin and wiped the table ( not ok ). She did not use a sanitizing spray and rag to clean the table. I asked for the floor to be swept from beneath our table because there was food and trash. Overall seating is congested when crowded. Heading to the food, plates are located beneath the buffet bar. Not a good place for them since food is being dropped from guests making their plates, liquids dripping, and just because it’s too close to the floor for me. The plus for me is seeing that they provide individually wrapped plastic ware. You still get the regular utensils if that’s what you prefer. Food selection is pretty good. My husband enjoyed the hibachi station. Food is tasty. Some popular items took a little bit to come out. It was pretty packed in there tonight. I know they’re pretty fresh being that they’ve just opened, and they’re looking to hire more staff. Cooks did an awesome job! Just get everything else in order and I think they’ll be alright. Looking to visit again in the near future. Just my honest...
Read moreMe and my family usually eats here once to twice a week since they’ve opened. However, instead of the service getting better, it got worse. The servers stood nearby to our table, making us feel rushed. Worse is, they keep on getting our plates, spoon and fork and we’re not even done yet. We already have told the server not to get it, but to no avail, she still got it and walked away. While eating our last dessert which is just an ice cream by the way, the server would mumble about our table despite the time being just 8:30. Your closing time says until 9pm, if you couldn’t accept and give your guests food that they deserve, close an earlier time. To make matters worse, the server gave us a nasty look because we’re still eating our dessert. To our dismay, we didn’t finish the food and just left. I dont think i will be coming back to this restaurant again. I am so disappointed. Go eat somewhere...
