Flossie's Soul Food Restaurant — Restaurant in Albany

On 12/15/24, My husband and I was on our way to attend The Worship Live Concert at the Albany Civic Center. We decided to stop and eat before going to the concert, we stopped at Flossie. The customer service was good, but the FOOD was AWFUL!! I ordered Hamburger Steak with gravy, rice, turnips, potato salad, cornbread, and peach cobbler. Cornbread was old and hard so I requested a roll. Only thing I could eat was the Hamburger Steak, Rice, Gravy, and Roll, The taste, texture, and appearance of everything else was just AWFUL!! I asked the server if I could exchange the dark soggy peach cobbler for a slice of cake, it was in a clear container almost frozen so I got it to go so it could thaw out. I noticed a No Refund Policy posted as I walked to the bathroom, they will only replace the meal! Replace it with what!! Everything looked old and overcooked!! Alright folks, I don't eat meat, so can't tell you about it. But da veggies is RIGHT. I had crowded (sp?), zipper and cream peas, collards, yams and whitr rice. 1st time having all 3 of those beans. Excellent and healthy!!! Everything is just the way I like it. Seasoned real nice. Yams were mushy - just the way I like 'em. Every dish was smooth. Price..$12.

They had cake and peach cobbler. I passed. Tried too much extras in the past 2 weeks. Gotta hit the situps. I'm not a dessert eater anyway. But it all looked good to me.

It was a Tuesday, so I was the only one in the restaurant. But I had a good ol' time with the brother who served me.

I haven't been here in a little while, but I can tell you that these are good people. During the pandemic our grandmother passed away. We had family coming over to our house that night and needed food to feed everyone. I called Flossies and they were more than happy to help. They cooked a full spread of food and even stayed after hours just to ensure that we had food for our family. They helped us carry everything out to the truck and provided us with boxes to ensure that the food would not spill on the way. They even told us where they went to church and told us to reach out if we needed anything else. You don't meet good people like...
