Not terribly impressed. The food was of good quality, but a multitude of small issues ruined the experience. They were out of the first three wines we tried to order. After we did make a selection and order a bottle they insisted on bringing a different wine glass for my wife because "you're supposed to use red wine glasses for rosé" (which isn't even true) and so she sat and waited for a new wine glass before she could partake. When the salad arrived, it was almost entirely devoid of burrata and someone in our party had to go without. No knives were provided and we had to ask for them and they weren't even proper knives. They were made from wood. The main board took over an hour to arrive and when it did, the chef spent 10 minutes explaining each meat and cheese to us. It would have been much better to have some documentation or something rather than having the whole table wait even longer to eat. Somehow, during the entire talk, it wasn't even covered what name of each cheese was, only the content and origin.
All in all, it felt very much like we were being curated into having some sort of pre-determined experience rather than allowing us to just enjoy ourselves and the fare. I doubt...
Read moreWe tried this out with some family visiting from out of town. It is far too cold in there. My mother-in-law who is little and frail was freezing with a jacket on. The rest of us kept our outside coats on too. It is also too bright. The food was okay but lacked some things like maybe some jams or something. The worst part was the waitress was so completely clueless, and don't mean this in a personal way she's surely a fine person, I mean that as a professional critique. She didn't want to give us spoons for our creme brule, forgot to bring pretty much everything until we asked for them. Etc. Etc.. And we were the only people there. Again, this young lady was nice and is certainly going to figure it out but give her some training before you cut her loose on customers or hire some experienced staff. We really want to give our local businesses good reviews but Grazing Oregon is off to a really rough start. Best...
Read moreBrand new place in Albany with a unique set of choices for dining. Not your typical restaurant with entrées and sides, but more akin to appetizer platters called Charcuterie boards. The focus seems to be on presentation and complementing flavors and textures. We enjoyed the very fresh and high quality berries and greens, oils, dressings and balsamic. The pickles, artichoke hearts, capers and olives were very tasty. The proscuto and salami and cheeses were also good quality and seemingly not overly processed. Not too salty. Smoked salmon was very fresh too. Honestly, though, we felt there should be a bit more quantity of food for the amount paid. See pics. The caprese platter was so yummy with a nice blending of flavors, but we expected more. It was a very pleasant experience and the wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Give it...
