I believe I am reviewing the Starbucks in the Albany CA Monroe Ave shopping park. I was there quite near closing time on a weekday evening. Last minute visits to any cafe sort of business can vary widely, so when the door swung open with only minutes left on the clock my heart began to lift. I spotted the cash register - everything was so clean and shipshape with the crew all there - was I interrupting their exit strategy? No way, these were total pros as I got an immediate cheery greeting while navigating the unfamiliar few feet around to the counter. Drip coffee, the pure black essence of the bean? I so needed this that I couldn't even remember the special Starbucks name for the biggest they had, but no problem! Pastries, even at the end of the day? Oh, yes, they did! Could I use the special coupon I had been sent via email? It was only good on one specific day, and they were very gentle as they helped me understand that I was in such a state that I essentially didn't know what day it was, and kindly even offered me the mercy of reversing the sale. No way I was going to let that happen in my moment of need, and I not only walked out with what I came for but also full of gratitude for their excellent and thoughtful service. It just kept getting better, as even at the end of the day the coffee was delicious! So was the pastry, and I soon found myself revived and able to complete all the errands I'd hoped to be able to do over the next three hours on into the evening. Thank you so much to the great crew and super well-run store, and I look forward to now having you on my...
Read moreSo I placed a mobile order prior to going into the store and ended up waiting for my frap longer than expected. I gave the barista my name politely when she asked, and she replied back that my mobile order was not in. After waiting for a bit longer, I assumed my order would be done by than considering the amount of time I’ve sat waiting. The manager than proceeds to step in wanting to confirm that I actually did place an order at the exact location. I checked, and than confirmed that I did place it at the correct location and the manager still insisted that my order hadn’t came through. By that time several mobile orders had already been called and picked up and not once we’re they approached about seeing a receipt. When it came down to mine, I had needed to show that I had paid in order to pick up my drink. And to make it worst, it was this watered down mess, looking as if it had been sitting out for the time frame I was waiting. Nothing about this drink was appealing or delicious. It was just thrown together and put into a cup sloppily. Poor service and poor quality...
Read moreThe staff is usually super nice, I’ve never had any problems. I work at one of the businesses across from Starbucks Albany. This morning I ordered just a simple grande cup of ice like I always do at the register. The barista (short, white, blonde boy with glasses) gave me a small cup of ice and so I just calmly told him it was actually a large cup of ice, no big deal, even tho it said it on the order label. He got passive aggressive about it and when he gave me the large cup instead he felt inclined to tell me with tone in his voice “ask for a large cup next time” to which I replied “I DID”. I don’t know if he didn’t read the label and I’m not sure what kind of morning he was having but, it was super off putting and unnecessary to start my morning off that kind of interaction over his simple mistake. Super...
