We had a terrible experience there we went there for my sister's birthday with her daughter my best friend. The help wasn't all that friendly especially when there was a bug in my nieces taco salad it was disgusting! They came and picked it up before we could even take a picture we didn't think about that we were so appalled. They didn't even say they were sorry so that angered my niece and myself. I don't think the others were too happy either it was in the chicken I'm not sure what kind of bug it was because once I said something about the manager a guy came out and grab the plate nobody ever said they were sorry nobody ever offered a discount a period we were appalled and shocked at the behavior of the professionals. I will never go there again and eat it was in the chicken and frankly I couldn't even eat everybody had chicken and I kept picking through it to see if there were more bugs I'm not sure what it was but it had legs and it was big and black big like the pinky fingernail. That is beside the point the major point is that nobody ever said they were sorry they did ask if she wanted to order something else or wanted to replacement, she did get a replacement but the whole thing was handled very rudely I thought for a business especially nowadays with the internet they could have at least said they were sorry. But they didn't it was like a hush hush or maybe they were used to it or I'm not even sure they didn't seem to be too upset especially when they didn't apologize to my niece at least she is over 21 and she did have a Shirley Temple. And I didn't really think their food was that great maybe it was because of the bug or maybe it was because of the mannerism of the people I'm not sure of it I'll never go back there and this is the first bad review I've ever given on anything in my life. I am shocked at the behavior of the...
Read moreThis place was amazing hands-down if you are looking for a Mexican restaurant in Albany, this is the place you should go. The food came fast and hot. The ingredients were fresh. The service was amazing. They continuously came and refilled drinks and asked us how we were doing, and if we need anything, and the interactions among themselves was really good as well. It felt more like a family setting than a restaurant And the restaurant itself is beautiful I mean it has really nice decorations the ceiling is gorgeous and the parking lot is pretty cool too. They have like this awning thing in the middle so that was really cool. I took my grandma there for her 90th birthday, and they sang her a song and gave her a birthday treat they were just really really nice and accommodating and the food is delicious for the price that you pay. The serving size is huge. My bill was a little bit high because I decided that I wanted to buy my grandma a few selections so she could try. We did the chicken with Crema and beef and chicken fajitas and the ceviche and we had the appetizers of the taquitos. The beans and rice were delicious. The salsa and bean dip that they bring you when you first get there is amazing I’m not a big bean fan, but this bean dip was good. I’m not The person that writes a lot of reviews I only write reviews if one I was exceptionally pleased or I really hated it so since I’m writing a review , y’all must know that this place was really really exceptional I don’t see a place for me to put pictures, but I do...
Read moreMost of the times I've eaten at Los Tequilas, the food is decent. It's never really great but passable so I finally just stopped going. However, my mom asked me to take her there for lunch yesterday and I had what can only be described as the strangest, most unpalatable food that I've ever had there. One of my favorite Mexican dishes has always been Chiles Rellenos. I've enjoyed them for decades, primarily in Southern California and at friends' houses. Therefore, I assumed it would be a safe option here at Los Tequilas. Oh no...no it was not.
The chile itself was slimy and looked as though it came from a can. And instead of being encased inside a crispy, light and airy breading (which I believe is made with egg whites), this was wrapped in what looked AND tasted like scrambled eggs. I'm serious. And it tasted absolutely disgusting, pretty much how you can imagine a canned chile wrapped in scrambled egg might taste. 😂
To make matters worse, when I mentioned to the server that the food was not good, instead of apologizing that I didn't like it or offering me something different, she replied that the cook has been making it this way for twenty years and if I wanted something better, I should have asked for the POBLANO rellenos. WHAT?
Needless to say, I won't be coming back. What a shame, because I adore Mexican cuisine and I really think it deserves better treatment than what they're passing off as Mexican food...
