Waffle House — Restaurant in Albertville

I had given this location 5 stars originally for being fast, friendly and clean but they have this woman now who is lazy and ignores us and doesn't want to do HER JOB. Firstly, the tables were not clean at all anymore and she WOULD NOT clean them off so I had to pull wipes out of my bag to sit down somewhere. She never comes to refill the drinks and acts like she can't see you trying to get her attention which is extra frustrating because she keeps forgetting to tell the man cooking some of the items in our order so our food starts to get cold while we try to flag her down to get the rest. If you say, "excuse me" she pretends she can't hear you and is constantly on her phone or playing music from it. When you ask for the things you need she gets annoyed and does it slowly and acts irritable about it. Thinking her name was Tia but she keeps running around away from us so it's hard to see the 3 letter name on her badge especially when she puts strands of her weave in front of it. She seemed so nice the first five minutes of the first time we saw her but we quickly learned. She's there to play. We stopped going here after the 3rd time with terrible service from her. The first thing when you pull up to this Waffle House is the location. There is enough open space around the Waffle House to do justice for the large window at this establishment. It really brings the light in (provided it's a sunny morning) and lets you gaze outside completing the context of a Waffle House.

Our server Heather was superb! She's friendly and pays attention to your table refilling coffee and water with a smile. She did call out my colleague for coming in a red shirt given the loss of Alabama against Clemson.

For review: I ordered the scrambled eggs with jalapeno peppers, diced grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. The jalapeno peppers were too many and because they were pickled instead of fresh, the vinegar was too much. If they put in less jalapenos or used fresh, this would not be a problem. This is what took the first 🌟 away.

The hashbrowns were excellent with the onions added.

The reason for dropping an additional star: The waffles served are thinner than pictures on the menu and felt like they were Eggo waffles and the prices on two of the menus are the table differed.

My very pregnant wife and I decided to go to the Waffle House on this nice Monday morning and immediately noticed it was packed (two cooks, two servers, and the manager), but as my wife used to be a server, she suggested we just be patient with the staff and stay. A server came up to us and asked if we were eating in, as multiple guests were getting to-go food, and we informed them we were in fact eating in. She went and told the manager so we could get the next server in rotation, and the manager, Danelle, looked at us and rolled her eyes. I immediately wanted to leave, but my wife, who was equally annoyed, said, “She’s hardly doing anything, so she won’t be serving us” (she was just standing there most of the time we were there). We then had a wonderful server who was very attentive and was continuing to set the shift up for success by doing the busy work in between serving her guests. We sadly didn’t get her name, but we definitely tipped her well. It’s people like that manager that make people not want to return to an establishment that you frequent, but it’s servers like we had that will...
