It is rare I give 5 stars even when I really like a place. There is nothing this place could do to improve. You walk in to large, bright clean space and are immediately greeted by very friendly staff. There is a spacious area with tables to enjoy your treats. I did not use that space but it clean and bright. I purchased several different items to get a good idea of their offerings. Everything was very fresh, perfectly backed and just the right level of sweetness. The Foundry Roll is amazing! When I moved to the area all I heard about was Louie’s Nut Rolls in neighboring Marshall. I tried them and they did not live up to the hype. They are often a bit stale and the frosting too sweet. When I mention that to people the response is always “They used to be better…” . Ok I’m not living on yesterday’s memories I want something fresh and delicious today! The Foundry delivers. The Foundry Roll is tender with a perfectly done exterior with a nice hint of cinnamon. The frosting is very creamy and not overly sweet with fresh nuts on top. This is hands down the best bakery in the area. I look forward to trying their...
Read moreI would like to start out by saying, the food is amazing. Especially the deli food. However, the tall girl with the red curly hair, seems to be manager? She is very unprofessional and rude to staff. On more than one occasion, I overheard her be blatantly disrespectful to an employee. The young lady, I believe her name is Chris, and I were discussing sandwich combinations, and the tall red headed girls came and butted in and said some negative and demeaning things about Chris’s opinion on our conversation. I went with one of the options she suggested and it was the best sandwich I’ve had yet. You never speak that way to an employee or associate that way in front of others. I was very uncomfortable for the girl and myself. Being a manager myself, I would NEVER speak to my employees in this manner. In reality, we are nothing without our associates and that needs to be felt by associates, or they walk away. Maybe just a thought, but someone should probably have a talk with the Manager in regards to how to treat people and being a bit professional. I would hate to see a good place not succeed due to...
Read moreMy son and I visited the bakery for the first time today. We got there at 10:30 and discovered that we were too late for breakfast and too early for lunch--which is fair. BUT when someone working in the kitchen overheard us, they said they would be happy to make us a breakfast sandwich. So kind!! Everything was homemade from the biscuit to the eggs (both of which were excellent). I got some goodies to take home, and they, too, are outstanding! The orange/chocolate cookie was good, the apple caramel muffin was great (super moist, light, and tender), but the pineapple fritter was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I am a lover of apple fritters, so I had to try it. It wasn't that the pineapple made it great--you could have put anything in this thing and it would be great. The fritter itself was the lightest, crispiest, tenderest I've ever eaten. Sweet but not cloying. Simply perfect. The service was outstanding from everyone there. The restaurant itself is comfortable, cheery, and spotless. And the prices were very affordable, too! This will be our new go-to...
