I have gone to this restaurant a lot, off and on, over the years, partly because I live in the neighborhood. It's good, but because of the unappealing ambiance (let's stare at the TV!), I think of it primarily as a takeout place. Vietnam 2000 has some unusual dishes on its menu that I don't see at a lot of other Vietnamese places (though I'm not sure it has anything no other local Vietnamese restaurant has). I particularly like the steamed rice flour sheets; the stir fried flat rice noodle dishes; steamed rice with tomato sauce, tofu & vegetables; fried rice noodle with vegetable and tofu; spicy Huey style rice noodle soup; and those jalapenos stuffed with pork, that are sometimes a daily special, I think. (I don't see them on the online menu anyway.) I'm not that into pho, unfortunately. I wish I were, since there are so many good Vietnamese restaurants here. I don't like slurping long noodles out of broth. I've lost at least one shirt attempting to do that. But I also just don't like the combination of long noodles and thin broth, even if the flavors are generally great. I maybe have only gotten the Huey style rice noodle soup once or twice, but I did like that one in particular. From the appetizers, the fresh spring rolls, fried egg rolls, and tofu salad are all good. I also like the beef ball soup, for some reason, even though there's not much to it. Service is fine, especially considering that I have almost always...
Read moreOk..We've eaten here a few times t and twice to get our emissions done. The food was good, but the customer service was terrible. We went inside to order, one other person was there. We asked for a menu, and boy did we get an attitude , as if we were bothering her. We waited for our food feeling very uncomfortable. Three strikes they are out. Not only is it a restaurant, but they also have an emissions testing shop. I went there twice and failed twice .. bummed I took my vehicle to the AMCO to find out what the problem is. They couldn't find anything to go get it tested. I would pass. I decided to go back to the restaurant/emissions place. I FAILED AGAIN.! Right after I go to a different emissions place... I PASS. I WENT BACK TO THE Restaurant/emissions to ask for a refund. That was a big fat. "NO." I guess the thing I learned was don't go to an emissions that also rendezvous as a restaurant. ...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting 2000 Vietnam but I heard many good things. They have a huge menu! I loved our appetizer, the spring rolls were big and the peanut sauce tasted incredible. The service was great and friendly. Each table has a lot of seasoning available, different types of chili oils and dipping sauces. We ordered noodles and bánh xèo, the flavor was good, the portions filled us up, the veggies that usually is wrapped around the bánh xèo was interesting…usually it comes with large lettuce and leafy greens but it came with cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, and shredded carrots. Definitely different from traditional bánh xèo but still had great flavor. The downside was that our food was extremely oily, when you go for a bite the oil is dripping. We paid a little over $25...
