HIGHLY recommend this locally-owned, new coffee shop gem in Nob Hill. Convenient location with a stunning, roomy interior - perfect for a photo op. Staff were all friendly and accommodating with a great understanding of the menu - we were even greeted by the owner who was very sweet and excited about the launch. My partner and I got two iced Arabian desert lattes (mine with decaf and theirs with oatmilk - was very excited to know they had decaf and alternative milks!) and a bruleed madeleine - we were even given a sample of the baklava to try out too! I literally cannot overstate how amazing they all were. The coffee was immaculate - rich, deep, and lush without being overly-so. The bruleed madeleine was pillowy-soft with a tastefully-restrained brulee treatment to the top that gave it the perfect degree of crisp. The baklava was the surprise standout! I've only had baklava twice before and wasn't impressed either time, so I came to the conclusion I didnt like it. THIS one went CRAZY though - I probably never would have ordered it, so it was fate that I got to try the one here. The flaky pastry was light and airy, and the crushed pistachios and walnuts had the perfect amount of sweetness to them - not overdone to where it feels like all you can taste is syrup, like I've had in the past. Literally going to get a piece or two every time I come here, I'm already craving it again haha! The music and ambience were the finishing touch - 11/10, highly highly highly recommend this spot for first dates, study sessions, or just grabbing a good...
Read moreWow, so glad we stumbled across this special new space. It is rare that I leave a review on Google, but I felt so compelled after our experience there today. Immediately upon walking in, we commented on the beautiful decor and the light, modern space. We also commented on the business hours posted, which keeps the coffee shop open late- a complete rarity in New Mexico!
When we got to the counter, we were greeted by the nicest woman, who we later learned was the owner. Her vibration and her willingness to welcome us was truly beyond anything I have experienced in Albuquerque. She explained that this was a very new location and that she was still in a soft opening phase. She was so humble and apologized for things that no one would have ever noticed, as the place feels completely ready to go to the average customer. But this tells me that she is paying attention to all of the details of her business and wants to strive for the best.
We enjoyed absolutely amazing drinks, including a brown sugar iced coffee, which my son was blown away by - slightly sweet at first, and then a cool traditionally bitter coffee finish. We didn’t try any of the food, but it looked amazing and homemade .
Really beautiful space, a gift to the college community. I encourage everyone to support the space, and treat it and its employee well so that it sticks around. It was literally the highlight of our day to have found this space and had the encounter we had with the owner...
Read moreMy wife and I found ourselves in Albuquerque late after a show. Looked up "coffee" thinking Google Maps would only list Frontier and maybe McDonald's as the only options on a Thursday night. The first listing was Amalie. A place neither of us heard of. We followed the directions to this beautiful and unassumingly classy place! Much more than a coffee shop! The hosts were delightful and welcoming! The atmosphere was beyond classy and elegant! The coffee and pastries made our taste buds dance with joy! And to think Amalie is only a few days into a "soft" opening to test things out! I will highly recommend this gem of a shop to all who will listen! Run to this beautiful coffee and pastry shop! You will not be disappointed!
We had the Amalie coffee, the Ube coconut latte, as well as the baklava, the pumpkin cream cheese muffin, and the creme brulee Madeline pastry....Before we left for home, I ordered another Amalie! We will drop by everytime we venture North to Albuquerque to work our way through the rest of the...
