First, I want to give big kudos to the following Gyros staff: Oliver, Seamus, and Gloria. Keep reading to find out why. The evening of September 6, my husband and I went to Gyros for dinner. I am vegetarian and Mr Natalie is an omnivore. Gyros is one of the few places in Albuquerque where a vegetarian has multiple tasty options to choose from on the menu and the omnivore is also very happy. I ordered one of the specials, vegetarian mousaka. When our meals arrived, we both tucked in and I discovered with the first bite something that had the texture of meat. I've been a vegetarian for more than three quarters of my life and without going into the "why", I will just say getting a bite of meat is, at best, repulsive. Now, I'm a frequent flyer at Gyros and every meal there is absolutely consistently delicious: fresh, prepared with care and presented well. But, things happen, right? Long story short here, the aforementioned staff, Oliver, Seamus, and Gloria, handled the situation like pros. I was quickly served a replacement mousaka, vegetarian this time, and treated to a second glass of wine and my husband was treated to a baklava. Oliver and Gloria were super apologetic and very kind, and Seamus kept checking on us to make sure we were happy. The kindness and efficient service were above and beyond. I understand things happen, and having such great service and attention really made me love Gyros even more than I already did. The food is here is always delicious and I appreciate that beer and wine is served too. So, thank you, Oliver, Seamus ,and Gloria. All's well that ends well, and we...
Read moreHonest Reviews I have found this restaurant to always be kept clean inside and out. The restaurant is located near the University of New Mexico main campus. The restaurant is owned by a very nice Greek family. The food has always been great to dine in and we've ordered it to eat at home as well. We usually order the family platters to serve anywhere from 10-18 people as our entire family loves this restaurant. Spicy Chicken, lamb chops, gyro meat, kabobs, ribeye, greek salad, oven potatoes. The homemade salad dressing is great the meats are always prepared perfect with the right amount of seasoning. They also have fish and vegetarian plates that my mother loves. We haven't ever been disappointed and everyone we have recommended or has dined with us at home or at the restaurant has loved it. I would definitely suggest you try various options from the restaurant as we haven't decided on the best plate since everything is great! In my opinion this restaurant is the best Greek restaurant in Albuquerque with the friendliest staff when...
Read moreThis review has been a long time coming. I love Gyros and try to eat them when I can, and this place is one of my favorites for them. They are always consistent and never vary on flavor or quality! I have always ordered the same thing every time and forget the menu has other items LOL. The gyro combo which comes with a gyro, greek salad and patates (fried potato chips). The salad dressing is amazing on the salad and even though they always put a couple of olives I push them aside and devour my salad first! The dressing is just soo good. The gyro meat is always tender, super flavorful, always warm and never hard or cold. The pita bread that it is in is always great and again never hard, or have hard spots like it was left out all night in a unsealed package. The tzatziki sauce is perfect, and they add small sliced tomatoes and onion. Just perfect. Just perfect. We travel to this place about once a month to get our gyro fix taken care. I literally don't eat them anywhere else in the city, no need, "when it aint broke, dont...
