We picked up a dinner order last night for 3 people. Enchilada plate with green chili, chicken and cheese quesadilla and beef fajitas with green chili. The food was fantastic EXCEPT for the fact that we got NO green chili whatsoever and we had asked for beans and papas with the fajitas but we got rice instead. I called and was very polite, requesting that we get the beans and green chili we paid for. 40 mins later, I get a call from an employee, relaying messages from the manager that I could hear in the background. The manager wanted a picture of the enchilada plate to show there was no green chili. 40 mins later! I'm sorry, I'm not going to let my food get cold. They should have requested the pic when I first called but they did not. The manager didn't even call herself, which was very unprofessional. So that was one order of green chili we paid for that we never got. 3 people to verify it and it wasn't enough for them. So I asked if I was going to get my other order of green chili and beans. There was a long silence followed by "I GUESS I could do that" which was word for word repeated to me by the employee. Completely and totally unprofessional. We went in this afternoon to pick up the one order of green chili and beans and the manager took one look at me then proceeded to ignore me. I'm willing to bet it was the same manager. We will not be going back to this location and we will be telling our friends and family to avoid this location as well. Especially with the manager acting like we were just trying to get something for free, when all we wanted was what we PAID...
Read moreI am from out of state and decided to stop by Garcia's for Sunday lunch. Although the menu prices were on the higher side, my curiosity led me to stay and give it a try since I had yet to discover an authentic Hispanic restaurant in albuquerque. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I ordered two tostadas, one with ground beef and the other with chicken, accompanied by race. This was a to go order, and to my disappointment, the tostados were placed on top of the race, seemingly an attempt to economize on packaging. Resulting with my tostadas being soggy and inedible when I arrived home creating quite a messy situation. The quality of the food at also left much to be desired. The rice was reminiscent of a Rice-A-Roni dish, lacking in flavor the beans appear to have been cooked separately and lacked any seasoning while the chicken was incredibly bland, devoid of any discernible taste or seasoning. I was left highly unsatisfied and must express my reluctance to recommend this restaurant to anyone. The experience was further marred by The peculiar odor of the napkins they provide, which resembled a moldy basement smell. Regrettably, I would not bring myself to consume the meal and had to seek substance elsewhere. I would advise potential diners seeking an authentic Hispanic culinary experience to explore other options aside...
Read more2/28/18 Dropped review to 2 stars. Sausage, Egg and Cheese burrito is mostly poorly cooked, unseasoned potatoes. Look at the photo! This is my biggest pet peeve with NM breakfast food. There's always poorly cooked/uncooked chunks of potatoes!! This wasn't on the menu. I don't want poorly cooked/boiled potatoes! I wanted a sausage, egg, and cheese burrito! I drove out of the way to get this, and I won't go back. This is just stupid! I'm picking little pieces of potatoes out of a burrito which shouldn't have any. By the way, 2 stars is for the good people that work there. The food gets 0 today.
If I drive down San Mateo, this is the best place to get a good breakfast from a drive through. I like the chorizo breakfast burrito, but there are numerous choices. They have a breakfast platter where you can get an omelet, rice, beans, and pico. Some mornings, you need a pick me up. That'll do it. I recommend skipping the potato option as most places over do the potatoes on everything. The people are very nice. The -1 star has to be from the location. Often, it can be hard to enter and leave the...
