We have been eating at Golden Pride for roughly 5 years and have always had amazing food and great service until Thursday night 10/21 at the Lomas location. We pulled through the drive through around midnight because our daughter is in the hospital at UNM to order. Jasmine taking our order could not have been more rude if she tried when asking us what we would like to order. We asked for 2 tacos with meat and cheese and sour cream. The response we received was "we don't do sour cream" no other explanation. I asked if they have sour cream packets and she said yes instead of being thoughtful and offering that option when we started our order. Pulling up to the window is where it really went wrong. She handed us our order without a hello, how are you, etc. My wife looked in the bag and our order was perfect but no sour cream package. I asked Jasmine if we could get a sour cream package and her answer was astonishing. "I watched them put one in your bag!" Really? So now were being accused of trying to still a sour cream package? (one mind you). I then let Jasmine know politely that being in sales and service is a service position where you try your best to accommodate your clients. Her response went along like the prior moments we had already spent with her. She had something smart to say and then asked us not to write a review and specifically not to mention her name. It would have been much nicer Jasmine to have heard you say, I'm sorry we do not put sour cream on our tacos but I can offer you some sour cream packets if that helps. Then at the window, when we didn't have a sour cream packet in the bag it could have been easy instead of accusing us of stealing one to have said. I thought he put one in there but let me get you another one. This review is not a review for the store but should only be taken as a means to know Jasmine either needs better coaching or you need to free up her future so she can work somewhere where customer service isn't a need. We love Golden Pride and will continue to eat there, unfortunately we will just make a longer drive to the Eubank and...
Read moreWe got out of a whole day of medical appointments for 4 hospitals and kids and I were starving. We loved Golden pride so we stopped there. Given we have a 2 plus hours drive home we got our usual family meal of chicken and ribs. We were told there was only 8 chicken left and plenty of ribs. I told the server yes we'll take the 8 chicken plus the ribs. An hour out of Albuquerque we went to eat and there was nothing but a tray of ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy and another tray with one rib and a ton of barbque sauce. Being almost midnight and the mileage to come back, we ended up getting more food at dancing eagle. So yes weeks later I came to see the manager. I got told you got what you paid for. True I got what i paid for but I didn't get what I ordered. I ordered the ribs and chicken meal with biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cole slaw. The only think I got that I actually ordered was ribs and màshed potatoes and gravy. Very dissatisfied and disappointed at the service and the manager. Oh I can't just give you free chicken because you got what you paid for. No i should get my refund for the employees getting my order wrong and as a manager treating a customer so poorly. Its not my mistake for getting order wrong or not listening. But they did repeat 4 times they dod only have 8 chicken then proceeded to give me food i...

“We passed Golden Pride driving down Lomas St to the UNM Central Campus. It was well past lunchtime so we circled back to eat. A 50th anniversary sign has to mean something, right?
“The restaurant itself is simple. The menu has multiple sections with a variety of options. We went with the rib plate (3 ribs and 2 sides) and the rib combo (1 rib, 1 piece of fried chicken, and 1 side).
“O.M.G. The perfectly seasoned ribs were fall-off-the-bone-tender. The fried chicken was golden crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. The green beans, coleslaw, and spicy beans were all delicious. And on a cold winter’s day (high today is 39F), the green chili stew is a hearty choice rich with southwest flavour.
“We’re picky about our barbecue. We’ve traveled all over the western US for the last 3+ years and we’ve eaten at award-winning barbecue restaurants. Golden Pride belongs in that group. This is an underrated gem in Albuquerque. Plus Jerome and the rest of the staff are friendly, efficient, and very good at their jobs. They clearly take pride in their work, as they should. There’s a reason this little restaurant has been around for 50 years.
“We’ve added Golden Pride to our ABQ trip list and will be making regular visits here whenever we’re in town. Don’t miss out on your next visit to...
