Update to my original review. I haven't come to eat here in months- one of my favorite places BTW. I attempted one morning absolutely starving. When I inquired about the ingredients (as I'm celiac, and have always been fine to eat here) just to ensure nothing has changed, the girl literally had no idea what "gluten" was. How do you work in the food industry, and you have no idea what "gluten" is? When I asked for a manager, she said there wasn't one. Fine, next day, I decide I want to dine in, perhaps have better luck, but call in advance to speak with a manager. They tell me, "Um, call back." Sooo, like in 5 minutes, in an hour, what do you mean call back? She replies, "Oh well an hour, she comes and goes". So just know, if you've got any health issues, allergies, or an auto immune disorder that prevents you from eating certain food, they lack the basic knowledge to let you know if you can eat there unless you happen to catch the manager who isn't there, but at random. Super disappointing, was one of my favorite places...
Read moreAn Albuquerque institution since the days in which folks drove Route 66 because it was THE road through town, Kap's has been serving satisfied customers classic New Mexican food with unforgettable service. One recent morning, I indulged and took my kids. With wi-fi, they were able to get on their devices and read (a family tradition) as they enjoyed their hot chocolates and I indulged in Kap's unique cinnamon coffee. That was worth the trip in and of itself. Our server made sure we were well attended the entire time, and the manager regularly came by to check on us. Kap's serves many standard offerings as well as its own unique twist on some well known plates. I had Huevos con Chorizo, and it was delicious. While there may have been other customers waiting, we were able to simply sit and enjoy our meal and time together. Now all I need to do is convince my wife to come...
Read moreAwesome, I love this place. It's a good 'ol diner with some good food. These folks know how to treat you like family. They greet you quickly, get ya sat down and all & take your order at your pace. They have a giant cinnamon roll that is so good with cream cheese icing, not just that watered down sugar stuff. Serving sizes are good. The meals are filling for most everyone. If you need that 7-8 calorie meal, my friend you need someplace or just order several dishes....variety is the spice of life. 😉 Come sit at the counter for a bit, have some coffee, a roll, chat with everyone and maybe even read the paper while there. You'll be glad you did. I've had the French toast, Kap's special potatoes & meat, chicken fried chicken, waffles, hand held burrito and of course a few of those cinnamon rolls! They have all been hot, fresh & TASTY!!! I can't...
