Worst experience ever. If there was a way to give less than a star, I would.
My dad and my two and five year old had a rare occasion to have lunch in town today. Of all choices, we picked Marble; an establishment I have supported since their start. We ordered food from across the plaza. We were the only patrons in the place. We sat at the long bench table nearest the door. The server quickly took our order and proceeded to open the door directly next to us while she stacked stools to move them out side. She propped the door open while she did the process even while she was only in and only out for good periods of time. It was 40 degrees today and raining. My five year old mentioned 3 times, how cold she was and the server was near and admitted she heard her. Both of us adults were being too polite to mention anything knowing full well she heard my child say she was cold. Finally, after the third time, my dad got up and walked outside where she, and what seemed to be 4 other employees were standing, and asked if they could close the door and if one of the others could help her open and close it as needed because the babies were cold. He was met with argument so he finally removed the door stop and closed the door. One of the other ladies out there immediately walked over and continued to physically prop open the door while our server continued wiping bar stools and setting them up outside. It was a very calculated and blatant effort to disregard our request and to not make the customer feel warm and or valued.
After this interaction, our server very smugly approaches us, hands us our bill and says we need to leave abruptly and if we have any questions, that we can call her manager, Josh B. I was completely appalled. Not even half way through our meal, and now she's kicking a family out for expressing that we are cold. I explained to her that my two year old has just been diagnosed with a disability and that it would take a minute to calculate and diagnose his needs, but that we were indeed trying to leave. Her response was, "so are you telling me you are not going to leave?"
I did get the opportunity to speak with Josh as well, and while polite, just stood by their decision. We were not in there being loud, or kids running around or screaming or yelling. We were simply taking a quick breather at a one time favorite establishment.
I also am a small business owner. If this were brought to me by one of my employees, no matter how exemplary they may be, this is an learning opportunity. There are lots of tasks that need to be done during ones job. But perhaps, keeping the door wide open, while they are patronizing, isn't the best idea. Maybe Marble should do a quick refresher on customer service. It would have been so easy, to just say, "oh, gosh, I'm so sorry" and close the door.
I read a review from the owner that Marble staff does a great job in making sure their customers are comfortable and happy and enjoy their time and the ambiance. There was no thought into our comfort. There was no customer service.
My child is protected by the ADA. Not that the server would have known my child had a disability at the time of her very poor behavior, but her attitude and continued argument after being told so, was very disappointing and just sad. Maybe marble should also look into this as a training and learning opportunity.
Zero customer service....
Read moreThis is worth reading and is as accurate as I can remember. I only post one star ratings for businesses that truly deserve it and this one earned it on this day. My 77 year old mother had eaten here before the pandemic and recommended it. We were taking my daughter out on her last night in Albuquerque before she left for boot camp. Prior to entering the building we were required to give our id's to the hostess that was standing outside. Our names, addresses, and phone numbers were required prior to entry and recorded into their database through a tablet system. Prior to entry the hostess also requested a credit card which was charged $1.65 prior to entering the building. She explained that the credit card was to start a "tab" all of which at the time seemed reasonable due to the pandemic conditions. We were promptly seated outside on the patio as requested in which the problems started quickly. Me and my daughter had never been here prior and was excited to try it. To my moms surprise they no longer served food so she was confused how to order from the food truck parked on the curb out front and how get the meal to where we were eating. She is also not tech savvy and we were trying to help her with the beer menu that had to be scanned by a QR code on her phone. The beer menu consisted of a relatively short list of beers with no prices listed. As we were trying to figure out what we wanted to order our waiter was impatient and was trying to rush us to order a beer. We requested waters to start as we wanted to be sure we wanted to be happy with our decisions. The waiter did not offer samples of beer as some breweries do. As the waiter was putting down the waters he asked if we were ready to order. From entry to the waters only about 5 or 6 minutes had passed. We were still undecided and he requested us to leave the property if we weren't going to order. I was not going to make a scene and just decided to go somewhere else so we got up and left. We ended up going to "The LOCAL Brewhouse" located just a few minutes north of this location. We immediately knew we made the right choice. Our waitress offered us free samples of their most popular beers. They had an easy printed disposable menu which was easy to read and make a quick decision on what we wanted. We ended up spending almost $80 which was worth it to send my daughter out properly with a great experience. I even found out that they had Marble beer on tap. I'm not sure why the waitress didn't recommend it. Marble brewery you have lost our business forever. Please treat our elderly, veterans, and accomplished (retired) better. Edit Two years later no response from the owners. Tells you all you...
Read moreBeen here a few times but I went twice this week and was disappointed. The first day this week I got charged duplicate tips on my credit card statement. Few days later I went again. Had two beers, asked for the check and I was charged 4 beers. It wasn’t the same bartender either. I questioned it and got it fixed then I also questioned my previous double tip charge from a few days ago and they said they could not help. I showed them my credit card statement and instead of offering maybe an adjustment for it on my current bill they said I had to call or text a manager that was not even there. No thank you, I disputed it with my credit card and its fixed. CHECK YOUR CC STATEMENTS AND CHECKS BEFORE SIGNING. Errors on two visits in a row? Thats not right. This last time I sat in a different place at the bar and whats going on with the glass washing station? DIRTY AND MOLDY, also the mat where they put the clean glasses to dry was pretty bad. This is literally stainless steel and should be cleaned spotless every day. Even the back splash was nasty. Not sure ill be returning to...
