If you are thinking about going to Perico's today (8/26/21) and are reading reviews before going...be warned. You might get wood in your taco. Bit into a carne adovada taco and bit right into a toothpick. This seriously could have caused a chipped tooth, cut in the mouth or even accidentally swallowing the toothpick. And, it's not lost on me that stuff happens. Restaurants and people are doing the best they can right now. I'm not trying to bash them for this one incident (although I have nothing else to base my review on because this was my first time here). What I cannot stand for is a restaurant not taking any responsibility, acknowledgement or sincerity in their response. I simply called them right after finding the wood in my taco. I told the man who answered I just wanted to make him aware and that they may want to check that batch of meat so no one gets hurt. That was literally what I said. His response, "Okay." That was it. Nothing more. Mind you I was not calling as a raving lunatic or a Karen. I just wanted to let him know, so other customers wouldn't be at risk for swallowing wood. You would think a simple statement of, "I'm so sorry. We'll check the meat to make sure it's safe," would have been appropriate. Nope. That was too much to ask...even though I didn't ask for anything and my only goal by calling was to inform them. Seriously, I don't know if it's because of Covid lock down or just the norm, but I just don't understand how people have lost the ability to communicate and also respond appropriately. Again...if you are going there later today (8/26) don't, or you might get a...

This place has a very rude employee by the name of Juan. I just spent $80 on lunch for my family and when I asked him for a drink carrier he was very rude about it and said no. I then asked him for my receipt and he told me hold on and again he was very rude, he left me standing there for several minutes so I went to take my drinks to the vehicle and I came back in and he acted like I'd never asked him for my receipt he ignored me so I had to ask him again. After he gave me my receipt I told him thank you and he totally ignored me so I told him that he should not be treating me rude like that especially after I spent so much money. My husband with his business and all his employees is getting food from this place like every other day every single week for 8 employees and We get food as a family of 5 about once per week! So think about that by one employee treating a customer so rudely can cause this place to lose a lot of business and word of mouth...

We just moved to Albuquerque, NM and we tried Perico's for the first time and the guy at the counter was friendly and helpful since it was our first time trying NM mexican fast food we had a lot of questions and he was very helpful but the cooks looked like they were angry and pissed off and if looks could kill......we enjoyed our food and I even ordered some of the salsa to go but the next time we went to this same location it was a different guy at the counter but the same cooks and they all had that pissed off attitude, they did not get our order right and since it wasn't busy it must of been because they are so pissed off and miserable with there lives that they have to take it out on everybody else.....THE FOOD IS NOT THAT GREAT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH A BUNCH OF IDIOTS! There are plenty of other places to eat that have better food and better...

Called in an order at 9:45 for 4 burritos and a stuffed sopapilla and was told it will be ready by 10a. Show up at 10:05 and paid $51 and was told it was almost ready. 20 minutes pass and I overhear the cooks talking about my order and what each one is going to make. 20 more minutes pass and I finally get my food. Drive home and distribute the food to my wife son and daughter. My wife says 1/4 of the sopapilla and says the meat tastes spoiled and ruined her appetite, my son eats 1/4 of his burrito and I eat 3/4 of mine and we both decide to eat bowls of cereal as that is more satisfying as the bland overcooks fajita burritos we ate. My daughter said her beef jerky wasn’t good and we shouldn’t get it from there anymore (she had a steak burrito) clean restaurant clean bathrooms and pleasant staff interaction aside from the lie my food was almost ready.

Second edit, 10 months later. Still no refund. Edited to add: please check your receipt carefully and perhaps save it. When my cc statement came, I had been charged an extra $10. The food in the picture was $7.74 not $17.74 when I called the store the gal managing said she couldn’t access my order, sorry not our fault. Am disputing with my card company now. Best relleno I’ve had in town. Had lots of eggy batter and served crisp! The boat of chips were getting to the stale side but edible. Think they should consider a better airtight container. But did not take away from anything else. Very satisfied!
