Richie B's sells classic New York style pizza with enough fresh mozzarella cheese to give someone a heart attack! The crust is nearly perfect! It isn't soft and doughy, yet not super crispy either. It's browned to the right level and has enough bite to it. The pizza sauce both smells and tastes great too!

So why give the pizza 4 stars?

I am someone who reads the reviews before going to a new restaurant. One of the most common complaints I have read about this place is that they drown the pizza in oregano.

I originally thought: that could be a great thing, especially since the majority of "good" pizza in ABQ is BLAND! Dion's comes to mind as a good example of one. After all, a good NY style cheese pizza should be big, flavorful, and NOT for the bland of mouth!

After eating that pizza however, I'd have to agree with that complaint. There is SO MUCH oregano in the pizza that it is drowning out the notes of garlic and shallot that, in my opinion, also makes an excellent pizza. Don't get me wrong. Oregano is an essential ingredient for a good pizza, but not at the expense of other important flavor components.

If they cut down the oregano in half, and put in a little more garlic into the sauce, then this pizza could be legendary and truly something special. Instead, it misses that mark.

6.5/10

My first time at Richie B's was a very slow day there my daughter and I were the only ones in there. They had alot of togo orders. So u know it's good when a place is busy. I got the Monster slice pepperoni pizza 🍕 it pretty expensive for one item almost $20 dollars 💸 which is too much for just a slice even if it's a Monster slice. It's overpriced. Just for a cheese Monster slice is $15 dollars 💸 That's outrageous 😳 Just tried it out for the experience; would I buy it again? No way! The flavor is there but not enough love for me. I've had better Monster slice pizza in Pennsylvania for less money 💰 🤑 The lady there was ok. She was whatever. I waited so long for my pizza 🍕 😩 I also ordered a Philly sandwich and it was soggy by the time I went home😡I asked her to put some stuff separate and she said it's all together mixed which pissed me off. I'm a cook and I would of kept stuff separated for the customer so that they can have a good experience at home. I've had way better Philly cheesesteak sandwiches! So if you want to try this place eat there! I live far from from Richie B's and I saw them on Tiktok so I figured since the ratings were good I wanted to try it out. Not worth it for me...

"Unfortunately, my experience at Richie B's was disappointing, which is reflected in the numerous one and two-star reviews. I paid $90 for a service that left me feeling disheartened. The person assisting me seemed unwilling to accommodate changes to my order and displayed impatience during the process.

It's important for staff to remain neutral and professional when it comes to personal beliefs and political views. I noticed that the individual serving me expressed their opinions in a manner that made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Additionally, I observed the treatment of the kitchen staff after a minor mistake, which was disheartening.

I believe it's crucial for any establishment to prioritize respectful and courteous interactions with customers. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of that expectation. As a result, I don't plan on returning to Richie B's or recommending it to others. I hope they can improve their service by focusing on maintaining a welcoming and customer-centric environment." P.S. We are from Boston and the Cannoli's are...

This place was exactly what a pizza joint should be. Simple menu, amazing customer service and fantastic New York style pizza. If I could give it 6+ stars, I would.

1st timers to this pizza joint. We were so excited as we had heard amazing things about the pizza. While we were impressed by the size of the monster slice… We are not thrilled with the flavor or the price. We spent $49.00 on 2 monster slices, a side of fries and shared a fountain drink. The fries are absolutely delicious!! The sauce and pizza had way too much oregano and overwhelmed the pepperoni. The crust was great but the rest of my slice was soggy. My husband had a supreme monster slice and felt like the slice was also soggy. The bell peppers and all the other toppings were mushy. The green Chile that was added and charged for was barely existent. The Parmesan cheese had been in the refrigerator (which is good practice) but the inside of the lid had rust and the Parmesan itself was moist from the condensation. Yes, the staff was friendly and yes, it was out within minutes although I feel the price did not match the quality. The restaurant itself was clean. The booths, chairs, floors and decor were torn. Maybe an off day for this place?
